Awsome Jeep Trail

Went exploring today.Found a nice jeep road. Its on NC game lands, so its a public road. I drove 11.5 miles in on dirt and didn't get to the end, ran out of daylight. Going back this Sunday and would really like someone to go along and explore this road all the way to the end. First 7 miles is easy dirt road, then turns into " GOOD JEEP TRAIL". Rode 4.5 miles of trail then turned around. Trail is in Burke Co. off of hwy.64 between Morganton and Marion. We could meetup at 10am Sun. morning at the intersection of hwy.64 and 226.I have a 2013 JKUR and had no problems. Stock jeeps will do fine. I know its short notice, but post up if interested.

Everything is still a go for ride this Sunday. Meeting spot is "on" hwy. 226. Hwy. 64 goes under 226. You have to exit off 64, then pull up to 226. A small dirt pulloff will be on left. Right now there is 2 jeeps, maybe 1 or 2 more. We will roll out at 10am sharp. I'm going to guess maybe a 6 hour ride, not sure thou. We'll stop at a store for snacks, drinks, fuel, whatever, before we hit dirt. Everyone welcome..

Sounds good, we'll plan on meeting everyone at 64/226 at 10:00. Is there gas station to top off? I'm thinking maybe just top off when I get off 40 in Morganton.

I might be up for this. If anyone checks this thread, are you talking about 64 south off 40 toward Rutherfordton and exit to 226? I think I know the meeting place, but wanted to be sure. Looks like there is a small pull off right when you exit 64 toand get on 226 according to Google maps. NC game lands appears to be just east of this spot.

We headed up there and parts of this road/trail were pretty good but mostly a road. Not extreme. No one knew past a certain point where it went. We ended up getting stopped by a forest service gate in a few spots and had to turn around and head back. It was good to get out and do a trail. I think it's meant more for horses and bikes judging by the signs and the gates. Some of the gated off areas may have been cool, but who knows. No disrespect to silverback (who put the ride together) as he wasn't sure of the end result. There was only one way to find out if it was good, and we did. Pretty dusty up there too.
