Best Jeep dealers in Raleigh/Durham

I'm finally ready to purchase a new wrangler and get back in a Jeep after 12 years of driving other vehicles. I can't wait!!

Does anyone have and good or bad experiences with any of the local dealers around the Triangle? Is any one dealer willing to do a deal other won't touch? It looks like some on the forum are getting jeeps at upwards of 5% below invoice at some dealers across the country. I know that's a long shot, but worth a try. I'm willing to travel to Charlotte or southern VA if necessary.

I've purchased 5 Jeeps from Capital CJD in Raleigh. We dealt with Anthony. Great guy and will take any deal to the owner for you.

+1 on Capital CJD.

I just picked up my '14 JK from there 3 weeks ago. 2% under invoice with Ken Lorbacher. Spent about 2 hours total between ordering and pickup. You may be able to get a better deal, I pretty much walked in and said I wanted 2% under (was burned out from dealing with all the BS from Leith Chrysler, who I seriously recommend against even visiting), and they said okay without even blinking.

Another benefit is that if you are ordering, you sit next to the salesman as they enter the order, so you can see everything they can (prices, options, etc). None of the other dealerships did that.

Also remember to get a Tread Lightly membership for the Chrysler Affiliates Reward Program. Gives you a bit more negotiating power as you now have the argument "I can get 1% under at any Chrysler dealership, make me buy from you".

Edit: Also if you intend to order, now is the prime time to do so, as I believe their allocation opens up around the 10th. Not 100% sure on that, but that's when my order actually went in after I put my deposit down 9/28

I've seen on some threads that the affiliate discount requires the dealership to not charge some of the fees. Did you find this to be true? Some people say they aren't supposed to charge the dealer fees, some say no destination fee. That detail seems to not be totally understood

I also bought my '14 from Capital CJD and had a great experience with Harry Dew. I spent about 3 weeks shopping and talked with Leith and Autopark Jeep. Autopark Jeep on Hwy 64 was awful. The salesman was an asshole and when I told him I was shopping around and not ready to sign papers today, he asked why I was wasting his time. Total dick. Leith had nice people, but it was obvious that I knew much more about the vehicle options and prices than they did. Ultimately, Capital CJD was patient, really knowledgable, and gave me a great price. I got about 3 under invoice but I also had an affiliate discount through work.

I bought my 13 last Halloween from Autopark, which is owned by Leith. I got a pretty good salesman, and I did the whole deal via email. But, when I showed up to buy, the sales manager wanted to reduce my trade. Then the finance guy was hard to get along with, to the point I contacted an Ally rep myself to check behind him because I didn't trust him.

Capital didn't have what I wanted, Autopark had one coming in, and I decided not to wait. I got a good deal, but not a good experience.

Only experience with Auto park was a few years ago my wife's Grand Cherokee had an issue and they wanted 1200 to fix. Got them to sell me the parts for under 300 and fixed it myself in an hour.

Thirded against AutoPark. My salesman ordered before we even agreed on price. Nice guy, but clearly wasn't really on top of it.

If they're convenient I wouldn't say don't go there, but I'll certainly never go out of my way for them.

If you can't get a good deal over there, I bought mine from North Point in Winston Salem. Tony is the sales manager I bought from, and I got my Rubi for a very sweet price. I'm a cheap SOB too so I worked all the dealers throughout the area.

You must have had the same sales people I dealt with. Almost the same experience. They insisted their initial price offer was the best they could do and I should take it. When I mentioned that I was also shopping other dealers you would have thought I insulted their grandmothers. Would NOT recommend that place for sales. You can definately do better on price and people elsewhere. Ended up buying at Westgate and was very pleased. Can't speak for Autopark service.
