CB Radio?? Got one? Anyone use them?

Ever since I saw my first episode of Dukes of Hazzard, I have always been fascinated with the CB radio. Now I'm a Jeep driver. I know they used to be a popular idea with Jeep owners, but does anybody still use them? Would it be a waste of time and more importantly money if I get one for mine?

cb's are excellent for trail riding with a group. For more range and upto the minute severe weather information take the time to get your amateur radio (ham radio license). Dont cost that much and the best thing is for the higher licenses you dont have to know morse code anymore.

Installing a CB is relatively easy and there is a ton of info available on here and the rest of the web. You should try and learn to do it yourself, that way if a problem arises you can repair it. CB's are more than a just a radio they can be a life saving tool. I won't go 4x4ing without one and they are increasingly becoming mandatory for club runs.

I went to install my old CB last night and can't find it. After many years stored in my shop, it grew legs and walked.
