Yeah iv been out to the Croatan (no clue how to spell it either). But it was alright we hit a trail that had a creek running down the right side of the trail. Pretty fun tail but kind of short. Then we hit another little 2-track and 3 of the 6 jeeps I was with got tickets for driving down it. Myself and the other jeeps didn't get tickets cause we hasn't turned down the trail yet. But the tickets ended up costing them $200 a piece. So it's pretty risky.

In my opinion it's not worth driving all the way out to the Croatan, just to risk getting a ticket. Wish there were more places to ride around here. I did see some jeeps coming off of a powerline road off of Dawson's cabin road. There were for sure doing some trail riding back there, but again not sure if it was legal or not.

I hear ya. Well I plan on taking another trip out to Uwharrie. It won't be in April because I have a small DET out to Boise. You girls down for a trip in say May or June? Get there on a Friday wheel Saturday morning and night leave Sunday whenever the alcohol wears off.

Ya, I was told you can purchase a permit to ride the approved trails but can still get a ticket for riding the non approved (200$ a pop!). The permit is 30$ from I was told.

According to the forestry site they are for vehicles with a wheel base less than 80". I have been hearing a lot about the power lines lately. I have no idea if that's legal.
