Outer Banks, NC

I will be going to outer banks on sept. 22 and staying a week. Staying in Avon but will be cruising all over. Wife and I looking for jeep fun. If you know of anything or want to convoy to see horses, or whatever let me know.

i'm sure everyone will tell you the same thing. head north of corolla and you will find miles of empty beach to drive on. there are wild horses and likely a ton of other jeepers/trucks etc parked on the beach. it is awesome.

Dang wish I was on here when you posted I live up in the 4x4 beach, lots of places to play here and plenty of stuff to do just better bring what you want to drink with you!! The 4x4 beach stretches from mile post 14 to 24 with lots of back trails and dunes to ride but one thing you have to remember about out here is if there is a trail it's fine to drive but you can't bust new ones! You wouldn't like someone driving in your back yard and if you bust new trails likely you will be doing it to someone else. If anyone else comes up let me know and I can show you some really good places to wheel and also some places to get you stuck lol , we have alot of swamp back towards the marsh that most people don't know about, makes for some really soupy black mud to play in!!

Oh and one thing with the horses by Currituck county regulations you have to stay 50 feet from them. They are completely wild and will kick and bite, chances are you won't get a ticket but ive seen people get bit and kicked because they wanted a picture with the horses and got to close. Also with driving on the beach the waters edge or foreshore and the dune line are considered a roadway so if you park on the beach you have to park in the middle so that rescue can get by on either one. If anyone has questions send me a pm and I'll be glad to help answer any questions or show you around.

Dave
