The Outpost is a gas station / restaurant / C-store located near the entrance to Uwharrie on 109, see Kernal Clink's earlier post for an address.

On another note, for anyone wanting to have a cold one after we are done trailing, just down the road a piece towards Troy is a place called Boondocks that serves frosty beverages ... I say we hit it up when we leave the trails!

That is true, but Boondocks is the only place to get it unless you BYOB it ... The Outpost is run by some very deeply religious people and they won't sell it.

Sounds good... We did BYOB and a half gallon jug of the cheapest white Zinfandel walmart hard to offer... Cheap wine and camping is kind of tradition with the Colorado group I wheel with

Probably not going to make it tomorrow. Just got off the trail and found my front diff is leaking in the rear where the drive shaft connects...

On second thought....

In the spirit of things I'm just going to make a quick pit stop and grab some diff fluid and fill as need be. I have no problem being the one sacrificing parts to the jeep gods... Def going to need a rebuild when I get back

I don't want anyone to misunderstand what I was saying. The rattlers are definatly more deadly. I just meant that the copperheads are MUCH more aggressive and as you pointed out, more abundant. In my experience, rattlers tend to avoid people MOST of the time where as coperheads have no fear.

I have hunted that area since I was old enough to hunt and I have seen them lying around over the years as well, even killed a few. I just have never personally seen one around the camping areas. Out on the trails? Very likely so.

We are in agreement it would seem, just talking about different ares of the property.

back to the ride, I will be leaving in a bit to head down there. Hope everyone has a safe ride down and here's to happy, trouble free wheelin'.

Had a blast today guys. Thanks for the company. Next time we'll get the rest of the trails in too.

...and I'll be sure to fill up before we head out.

And if you could do something about the weather as well... the heat just drained all my energy today. After we split up we drove straight down to the lake and jumped in then drove back to our camp site, packed up and drove home.

The highlight for me watching you hit that first mud hole when your cooler broke

I will post some pics tomorrow

Just got in from our show ... had a lot of fun playing, had more fun on the trail! Sorry I was late and had to leave early

I posted this same post (kinda) in another thread:

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/wha...45035-128.html

But, here's a few pics from today!

Matt getting his flex on!

Josh hitting the same rock

I have video of Paul hitting that rock on my iphone ... when I get a chance I will post it

Some of my mud:

We only satyed on the trails for another 45 minutes after you left. We tried to make a run on Daniel but halfway around some guys stopped us and told us the trail conditions were pretty bad to try it the direction we were going.

Awesome time though, now I get to take my Jeep in to get the front Diff rebuilt

Those pics are great. I really like the ones where we are all together before we got started. I may be going back this weekend but it's not 100% yet. We shall see.

Want to get a feel for who could join us for the trails here nearby Raleigh/Durham instead of Uwharrie and vice versa for Tuesday. If you can do either, sound off and let us know so we can get a head count.
