Western NC jeepers

I am new to the forum and have owned my first 03 Wrangler TJ for a year now. I am looking for a jeep club, trails to ride, people to meet up with to enjoy WNC and Jeeps. I am from the Franklin area but just about anywhere in WNC is cool.

I go to school at app state and am looking to get some mud on the tires. I have a 00 wrangler with 2" lift and 31 inch mud tires, I also have a 9500lb winch so if anyone knows where to trail and would like to go hit me up

I'm also in Western NC. Around the Morganton/Hickory area. About an hour from Asheville. If anyone's close, you can hit me up.

I don't know of any places around here. I've just been to a small local spot that's not very good. Boone isn't too far from me. I want to try to make it out to Uwharrie sometime in the near future.

Eastern side of Charlotte. Past Kannapolis. I've been to Wilson's Creek before but I never knew you could trailride there. It's not very far away from me. I might be able to go sometime if you can trailride there.

I just looked up Wilson's Creek and it says 34 miles of off road trails open to dirt bikes, over 14 miles open to ATVs, Jeeps, etc. So I might try to go there sometime.

Yeah I have a friend with a tj who goes but doesn't have a lot of equipment. I'm always down to go if you want to get together sometime. He said it's nice but he couldn't do too much as he's running stock with bigger tires. I can go any day of the week or on a weekend?

Wilson's Creek is in Pisgah NF up near Brown Mountain; it's a good all around recreation area, mostly USFS roads; the nearest offroad trails would be at nearby Brown Mountain OHV Park, which is closed til spring. Mortimer campground at Wilson's Creek is a good spot to stay (cheep) for weekend wheelin' trips.

Those Forest Service roads are still fun to drive and good scenery, and further west you can go to Linville Gorge Wilderness, either NC 181, east side or old NC 105 on the west side of the gorge, great scenery around there any time of year.

I was thinking of doing a day ride up that way in the near future, let me know if you guys are interested, Winston-Salem here.
