Sorry guys, i found out that backwoods is a club that requires membership and they are full and not allowing any more to join. The web site said nothing about membership. So the plan got shot down and that kinda pissed me off yesterday. So if you know somewhere to go let me know please.

We're looking at moving to Wilmington mid September to October and hopefully meet up with some of y'all. Will be down there Saturday at Freeman Park weather permitting.

Haha, yep it was probably me. I was either looking for places to live, signing the lease on my new place to live, or taking the Jeep to Low Range 4x4 to get it checked out. Can't remember exactly when I was doing what, been super busy lately. You have a TJ or JK? Hopefully I'll see you around when I move down there this coming month.

I have a TJ...she's a Black 2000 Sahara...still stock all a round...but I just don't have the money for any big mods yet...and I need to replace the top soon, the person who owned her before obviously didn't know how to take the top off without ripping it

Lol! I'm definitely one of those people... I have a brand new trektop nx and one of my stitches on the rear window is already coming undone. Stock is fine. Its still a Jeep! I had a completely stock Jeep until March of this year, and I still loved the hell out of it. I actually liked it way more for just driving around purposes. It was my little beach buggie!

Oh... and ps if its just the stitching that is coming off on you, and you can get by with the fabric of your current top, I know a guy just north of Wilmo that does canvas stitching. He fixed two four foot sections for me for about 60$. Just a thought.

Hi all, I'm not new to the area but I am a proud new to me TJ owner, I'd love to meet up with some fellow Jeepers! Is there a meet up scheduled anywhere? Lunch, north end, south end, I'm down for whatever.

Looking forward to meeting / riding with you guys!

Chris

Hey Chris...I don't know about the group...never met any of them either...but I would also be excited to get to know a few more people, especially fellow Jeep owners

Jode...I fabric on my top is still all good...but the little plastic slider things that connect the top to the body are broken and in poor shape... any ideas about that?

Jode, Chris, A J and others, I also live in the Monkey Junction (not Myrtle Grove) area. I'm always on the lookout for other Jeep owners on the road. If any of you would like to get together for a meet-and-greet, I work at the Lowe's Home Improvement in Monkey Junction if anyone would like to do a later meet-up. I drive a 97 TJ that's blue with a weathered spice colored top.
I'd like to meet other owners, talk shop, dream of mods and upgrades that I'll probably never be able to afford, and maybe make plans to go wheeling.

Ya"ll look me up.

Turner

Haha sounds good surferbear. Like I said before, I still live in Topsail as of right now, won't be living in Monkey Junction 'till the 17th. Anytime after that is good with me for a meet up.

Ps. I surf too. Not super good, only been surfing steadily for two years now, but anytime you wanna surf, I'm down for that too!

Sounds good, I'd like that. I'm in Kure Beach, work in Wilmington, so I pass through the Junction nearly every day.

I also am a beginner, but enthusiastic, funboard surfer. Nothing better to me than getting out and ripping it up & having a blast on a thigh-high clean break day!

How is WB and CB? I heard there's a jetty down somewhere in Wilmo that creates a nice clean break off both sides? Any truth?

Not sure about that, but the North end CB has a decent break some days right by the pier, and out of convenience because I live there, I do most of my surfing in Kure Beach, there is a sand bar on the north side of the pier there that can produce some good breaks. Some days you can get a decent left there too, which is refreshing since I surf goofy foot.

Yea im regular, but for some reason I hit backside way better than front. Which sucks because it's harder to see a wave closing and i've ate it on many occaisons that way

I just went surfing for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Going for my second attempt Thursday. So far I think I might need to stick to land based sports

Don't forget that Rome wasn't built in a day

This is my second full season of surfing, & I feel like I'm just now getting to the point where I can honestly actually call myself a surfer (as opposed to a guy learning to surf).

I actually feel like there's a parallel between surfing and working on the Jeep; every time I do both, I learn something new & can do it a little better next time.

surfing is a lifelong journey. every wave is different and every spot is different, but it's always better than the alternative, not surfing. I've heard that surfing the rock pile at fort fisher is alot of fun but i've never done it. also on a northeast direction ground swell the jetty at the south end of WB is always fun with peaky lefts and rights.

Lifelong for sure! Also very similar to jeeping. I don't thing I will ever give either up. Can't wait to settle in down there. The waves here on topsail have been almost non-existant for the better part of the summer. Even this past winter wasn't that good. Granted I was nursing a torn MCL from jan-may.

Ps. if anyone knows of any Jobs in Wilmo, let me know! Have had no luck with the sixteen or so jobs I've applied to.

At this point, anything. Lol I'm prior military, but I was Infantry so I have no real "viable" skills. However, I have experience in sales and management before joining.

So anything from customer service, sales, management, and possible security.
