That's too funny you all met up with Mike in the Trailblazer! Looks like you all had fun. Heading up there tomorrow morning for an early morning run! (Edinburg @ 8:30). Want to get up there to make the run and get back for the Skins game.

I hear there's a run going to Flagpole next weekend. Anyone have details?

This sounds interesting. Is it legal? Stock friendly?

Peter's Mill Run 22/12/2012 - YouTube

Something quick from today's trip more to come. The Video is recorded with a GoPro Black edition. HD quality. I'll put them on a DVD latter and put some better cuts up latter. Learned somethings. Need to check my shot. Go both sides cut off. Need to bring extra batteries.

Enjoy. I sure did!

Gladi8r - was planning to, but then my buddy had some changes so we're going tomorrow morning. And then I hear folks might be going out to the flagpole next weekend, and I wouldn't mind trying something new? Ever been up there?

Are you referring to the NOVA Jeepers end of season flag pole run?

If so, I think it's a members only ride.

No I haven't. Had my Jeep since May & I have yet to put in 4WD. I had '76 CJ5 back the late 70's early 80's & this was the last time I really did any serious wheeling. Looking to go out with a few experienced guys/gals to get me reaclimated to wheeling again. I don't want to do anything to crazy where my Jeep goes into the shop after wheeling.

From what I have understood about the "NOVA jeepers" is that they are a bunch of DB's. I have been talking to a few guys about doing a flagpole knob run next Monday the 31st, but currently we aren't 100% sure where the trail is so we might make a trip to shoe creek instead. Do you know if the "NOVA jeepers" are going to be there on the 31st, because I think to would help us make up our minds about going to shoe creek instead.

Douchebags, from what I hear. Not a good reputation, when you haven't heard anything good about them.

I thought I saw on their site they were doing something on Saturday, but was curious what you all might be up to. This is as far as I got with where it's at.

http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/George_...risonburg_Area)

BTW - Peter's Mill was good today, too. Question...where are the first videos from? I didn't recognize the parking lot. Was that Tasker's Gap? Just curious...liked the fast forward!

The parking lot was across the main road from Peters mill. Taskers gap is about a quarter mile further down on the right.

As for flagpole knob I have found some directions to it but not really clear on where all the obstacles are. We might go to shoe creek instead, but hopefully the " NOVA jeepers" will be going a different day than the 31st. I will keep you all in the loop on the plans and have a definite choice of where we are going by Thursday.

Hey danrb this is Jason with the Orange Jeep from Saturday. Just to let you know my screen name

I think the fast forward is all that is needed for the trip unless we can get cuts out the main stuff that shows something more difficult. Next time I'm bringing more batteries and try a different mount, as well as a tripod. I'm debating if I should try mounting the camera on the rear bumper to catch the driver behind me.

Hey Jason. I figured that was you. I'm also looking for a group trip next weekend. If anyone has some plans, I'd love to join in if not, I'll plan a trip up to Rausch Creek.

P.S. I washed my Jeep. The white mud just doesn't look good on Green. Need to find some browner mud.

Four Jeeps from MPJAI leaving Newport News for Flagpole run Saturday 29th camping on the trail and returning Sunday. We ought to hit Harrisonburg about 10:00am if anyone is interested in a meetup.

Mike and I are trying to figure out flagpole knob. Not sure how long it is or how tough or even exactly where it is. We are also debating about going to shoe creek instead which seems really cool. I figure we'll meet up at the sheetz or wawa (which ever one it is) on 15 by 66. I think we might actually have more people come out this time around.

On that note, there is a good possibility my wife and daughter are coming so I will be much slower and more stops than Saturday (which might be good for taking photos)

I found it by accident exploring, more a "nice drive in the woods up the mountain" than a wheeling expedition. Second Mountain/Dictum Ridge trails also in the neighborhood, easy enough to hit all of them in a weekend. PM me if you want some help on directions.

Would you guys mind a tag-along from Christiansburg? I did Flagpole over T'giving (some pictures on vajeepoffroad.com) and it wasn't too bad for my pretty stock LJ. I have not done Shoe Creek but would really like to hit it but don't want to intrude if this is a private-type trip.
