Nice pics, alittle jealous you got to do it with snow on the trail!
It's lifted on Teraflex 1.5 performance leveling kit with OME shocks.

Yeah it was a great time. Nobody on the trails and the snow was an extra bonus

How long did it take you to get home?

4 hours, I can only go 65 otherwise my jeep shakes, and no cruise control makes it tough.

Remember reading on the vaoffroad site about a guy on Flagpole who broke a brake line going through one of the ice covered mudholes. I guess the lesson is to not be the first one through.

From the picture of his rig it looks like he's lifted but I can't gauge the size.
I guess he was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time

Hey guys, I'm out for Monday. Just got the jeep home from an accident. No one hurt but a car pulled out in front of us. I managed to miss hitting it full but did side swipe the other vehicle. This put me into a spin and we hit the guardrail pushing my winch into the grille. The rock guards sure paid for themselves today although I never expected them to be "sideswipe" guards. Looks like other than a grille, fog lamp, winch and winch plate, I got off pretty easy.
Hope you all have fun Monday - I'll miss being a part of the trip.

Sorry to hear that, glad that no one was hurt. Same thing happened to me in the first 4 weeks of having the JK. Worked with insurance company for the body shop to fix what I couldn't, and they cut me a check for the OEM bumper plus labor. Final amount = new after market bumpers for front and rear. Definitely worth a shot working with the insurance and body shop to see if they can work something out?

Great idea! Adjuster coming by to look at the damage tomorrw.
Police tell me the person who pulled out in front of me may not even be a licensed driver. That may be the reason they fled the scene. They did return after about 20 minutes but I think it was due to a person who witnessed the accident and followed the fleeing car and got their tag number.
Evidently the winch taking the brunt of the crash kept the air bag from deploying.
It's always something, isn't it?

That sucks, but it's Northern VA for ya. I got rear ended about a month ago on 267 in my mini by a woman that was changing lanes. Driving the crappy rental car for a week convinced me it was time to get a second car, so now I'm a Jeeper.

Hey guys, do any of you with a JK Rubicon still have your stock rims and tires that you dont want anymore? I am willing to trade you my sport 17in rims and tires and a little cash. I just want to get a little more of an aggressive look out of my jeep until I have the cash for the stuff I want.

Yeah, I have the same rims just different tires. I'm hoping to find the tires. Hope just take my rims and tires off and put rims and rubi tires on.

2013 jeep wheels and tires

I almost pulled the trigger on the same thing with black rims. Ended up sticking with my Altitude Rims.

btw - looks like I'm out for Monday. Didn't realize my wife wanted to do something with the family, so i'll have to hit the next one.

Hey everyone!

Here are the details for our end of year trail ride on Monday Dec 31

Schedule

8:30am Meet up at
Sheetz
15315 Washington Street
Haymarket, VA
(From DC get off on Route 15. Stoplight make a left. Sheetz will be less than a mile on the left side.)

9:00am Leave for Harrisonburg, Va (Route 33 West)
Will make a pit stop for Bathroom break and let the kids attending take a break.

11:00am Leave Harrisonburg, heading for the trailhead. (Unsure of exact time to the trailhead, guessing about 30 mins)

Trailhead Arrival: From here we will make stops as needed (depending on conditions). I have called Harrisonburg district office for GWNF and the gentleman told me that we do not need a permit, but he was a little concerned that we were makeing a trip out to the mountains with roughly 2-4 inches of snow on the trail.

Stuff I recommend you bring for yourself and family, if they are coming:

Food and Drinks (If needed I will have a small cooler that will have some room to store food)
Snow Boots (If you do not have snow boots I would bring and extra pair of socks and shoes)
Two way radio (We will have a few people with radios, so at minimum we will have one leading the pack and one at the end of the pack)
Camera / Video Camera if desired
A blanket (in case we get stranded)
Recovery Gear (A couple of guys have everything we would need, but from what I am told, you can never have to much recovery gear.)

Right now the list of people attending is:

Reaper2332 (Jason)
FireFox2501 (Billy Goat Mike)
Gbobva (Glen)
Danrb (Dan)
Gladi8r

This ride is open to anyone that wants to go, we all just think that there isnt a better way to end the year than on the trail!

Guys, just wanted to pass along the word that today's snow has made Flagpole and the surrounding area very tough travel. We (NovaJeepers) had 3 groups of 4 rigs go out today in various ways up the mountain. One group encountered lots of trouble with ice and ended up heading home early. Group 2 encountered ice issues as well on 2 different trail sections and only made it part of the way up. A third group has been pushing it and as of right now (11:15 on 12/29) are still out there after heading out at around 10 AM this morning. At one point they took a couple hours to go about 300'. They have had extensive winch use (nearly 100 pulls so far). Luckily they are stacked with tons of food and can probably make it through the night if need be. All of these groups have people who know the area very well and have found the going tough.

Not trying to keep you guys from going, just wanted to share some of the conditions up there. If you guys aren't familiar with the area, it could compound any issues you encounter out there. I'll pass along more as I get it if you'd like.
