I'm putting up my video soon. I use windows Movie Maker. Cheap and it works. I added music to one of my videos and You Tube complained about copy rights, but said it would be available, with ads that display with it. Need to read some more about this before I add music again.

Yeah when you post a video that makes money for you by advertisements you can't put any music on it because your making money off it using somebody else's material as well

It takes about 2 hours if you don't stop to do the whole trail. I would give it 3 so you can stop and tale pics

The video is 10 times real time, so 70 minutes of actual driving.

We had a blast on Monday. Thanks for the invite Jason.

Here's a YouTube video I spliced together, shot from the Yukon.

Peters Mill 12-31-2012 SR758 to Edinburg

As much as I want one, a new Jeep is not in my immediate future .

No worries... your GMC did fine. Anything broken when you got home?

Thanks everyone for a great run. I cant wait for next time (whenever that is). Due to an extended trip overseas, I wont be able to make it out again until Feb (probably Rausch Creek on the 23rd or 24th or both staying in a local hotel).

Prior to that, I was thinking of extending my breather tubes. Anyone up for an afternoon in early Feb and we can knock out everyone's jeep?

Thoughts?

Cheers

Nope... and the alignment seems to be fine as well! The thing sits 90% of the time. My daily driver is a 2011 Kawasaki Concours 14.

Right now I'm gain for both...Q-tec gave me $110 credit for my cable, thus I'm getting the following: Viking Offroad Amsteel Blue Synthetic 3/8" x 100' Long Winch Line & VIKING Offroad 250 Series Aluminum Fairlead...

Looks like other than a grille, fog lamp, winch and winch plate, I got off pretty easy.
Hope you all have fun Monday - I'll miss being a part of the trip.

Claims adjuster came by today. About $2800 total repair cost, all covered by insurance. Looks like there may be an upgrade or two in my future.

Breather tubes? Not even on my radar. What's that?

I'm up for Rausch Creek, but don't know if I can wait that long before going again. Next 101 class at Rausch Creek is 12 Jan. Anyone up for going?

You have breather tubes for your differentials. They only come up to about the top of your shocks and if you cover them with anything preventing them from breathing it is bad news.

Im not sure about going up to Rausch Creek, I am really tying down my budget to get the parts for my jeep. I am down with day trips, but I really dont want to spend $80 on top of gas to go up there right now.

a breather tube is the small tube that brings air into different components of your drivetrain. The issue when going through deep water, these tubes can draw water into these components. Extending them to the air box (or above) can eliminate this problem.

The components that require extending on the JK are both axles, t-case and tranny. There is a kit from River Raider (Smilin' Bob's Breather Hose Extension Kit for JKs) for about $70 that has everything needed for all the components.

I might be up for a trip to RC on the 12th. I get back from Arizona on the 11th, and fly to Germany on the 14th, so it might work well. I have done the 101 course, but may see if my brothers want to come up and drive The Bear.

I will let you know soon.

Glenn the way I interpeted your post was that you were springing for the kits & all we had to do was bring our Jeeps...

I just got my 2013 JKUS 2 weeks ago and have hit up the AOL trail a couple times! Fun little circuit on my way to one of my offices. Though I have not done more than the loop there. Is there anything else worth exploring off the main loop?

Please be careful, the "AOL trail" is very illegal and you can get in big trouble if caught back there...

No problem, we (Nova Jeepers) get a lot of newer Jeepers either asking about the wheeling back there, or they get stuck back there and come on our forums looking for help, so we try to let people know to keep them out of trouble with the fuzz.

It's a problem in NoVa because other than private land, there's no legal wheeling other than driving to Peters Mill or GWNF or one of the pay to play places like Rausch Creek, Crozet, or the events out at the Cove in Gore
