Tires are looking real good under the jeep. And we can camp sometime this weekend when y'all are both off. I'm down for meeting at 1 (give you some more time to sleep in. haha) Haven't heard from ben (Work4Mud) yet today but hopefully that'll work for all of us.

He can't get out of work :/ but if you want to sling mud I'd still be down to put a fresh coat of mud on the Jeep. I do need to head out to Lowe's and talk to somebody about my application tomorrow so maybe we could postpone til Thursday? he said thursday would work for him if that good for you. can't remember if you're working or not.

sounds like a plan man. i'd love to get into some mud tomorrow but all the good mud holes are a bit too far away for me to get to without wasting half my gas. haha. wish there were more people on here that were from Roanoke who knew a bunch more spots to hit closer to me here in town.

i went two days in a row for new years. haha. we'll definitely be wheeling every day this weekend too. i liked the routine last weekend of wheeling everyday and like they always say "if it ain't broke don't fix it". haha. but we'll hit up E.R. thursday and then tear broad run up all weekend, maybe hit some mud here closer to Roanoke over in Daleville.

There is a huge mud pit behind hardees. Never been up there but I hear it's tough. I wouldn't go up there without a couple guys with jeeps, tow ropes, etc.

yeah. that'll be for a future trip once i get me a nice winch and other proper recovery equipment. my cousin knows a bunch of guys who go back there before school in the mornings and get stuck on a regular basis then leave their trucks there during school and pull em out that afternoon. haha. I just want to drive back there and look it over just to see what it looks like. but i'm calling it a night. I'll talk to y'all later and see you both on thursday.

Buy a 4 inch lift, sell your current tires to offset the cost and buy some 33's for whatever size wheel you have in BFG mud terrain km2's

That'd be a good lift. But fyi, I have 35's and havnt regeared. Unless the previous owner has and didn't tell me.... But I have great power, get up and go. No issues here. Of course on the flipside I have an automatic trans and the 4.0, I think regearing is more important with the smaller engine and manual tranny.

I think i've got a 4 inch lift too or maybe just a 2.5 inch with a couple inches of shackle lift or something but I have 33's and it doesn't feel like it lost any power. And i'm pretty sure they didn't regear either. Wish I wasn't broke so I could run a carfax on this thing and find out where its been.

Go to jeep.com, register a free account and go to for owners and put in your VIN and you can get a build sheet from the manufacturer to see how it cane from the factory.

oh nice. that will be very helpful. then once i get some more money I'll invest in a carfax to see who all has touched the rig since it left the factory 17 years ago.

Me personally I wouldn't spend money on a carfax. Say somebody did a bunch of work themselves or crashed it and didn't file a claim or report it, it won't show up on the carfax.

very true. thats why i hate the fact you have to pay 30 bucks to see a bunch of info that is probably false or not 100% accurate. And for some reason it won't let me add a vehicle to my profile on Jeep.com

It's doin the same for me, thought it was just me or temporary. Maybe they will fix it or you could call a jeep dealership with your VIN. I've heard of them doing that for people.

alright. i'll keep trying and maybe try again tomorrow if it doesn't work. I'm also pissed that I don't have any active recalls on my jeep. Heard about it on here but checked for my VIN and i didn't have any active recalls. Thought I was gonna get some free parts for christmas. haha. And are you at work today because I think I'll be rolling out to the Bonsack Lowe's in a little while to find out whether they got my application or not so you may see me rolling up in the Green Monster later.
