I'm in Waynesboro about 30min from Lynchburg. Most of the wheeling I've found around the area is in the GWNF but you have to watch your trails. Some are posted some aren't but if you go off trail and a ranger is near by you'll figure out REALLY quick (to the tune of $300 and a day in Federal Court) where you were supposed to be. Personally I haven't had to pay yet but 2 buddies of mine got busted up on Bald Mtn. Trail in Stuarts Draft!

Yep it's off of big levels. Give me a little bit and I'll see if I can find some maps/satalite images of the trail for you. I don't know the exact mileages for the turn off of the coal roads (big levels) but if you are tring to find it for the first time it's easiest to come in from the parkway. If your taking the parkway head south from where it goes over Rt. 250. When you get to the Blad Mountain Over look on your right, and it'll be a few miles, take the little gravel road which is to the right of the lookout pulloff. While going down the trail from the top at the first "y" you come to make sure to bear left, at the rest bear right and that should get you to the bottom of the mountain. Once back at the coal road take a right. When you get to another "y" take a left and that will take you out to where 340 is. I'll get some pics up for you here in a little bit.
