So, I must say... I would love to go on some trails, but what is it with the Sunday's? Am I the only one around here that works a normal job around here?

I just noticed this post. My wife & I are headed out tomorrow (Saturday) morning to check the GWNF forest roads north of Hwy 33 and west of Harrisonburg. We're going to check out FRs 302, 232, and 152. We'll then move east down Long Run and see how far we can get down Dictum Ridge. Not sure where we'll camp. For Sunday, we'll check out some of the side forest roads in the Flagpole area.

We're packing for very cold weather conditions and carrying self-rescue gear. The weather is not going to be good. The lady I spoke to at the North River Ranger District this afternoon didn't know how much snow was up on Flagpole (if any) but thought since they received a lot of rain this week that there would be a fair amount of ice.

If anyone want to join us for Sat and/or Sun send me a PM. We headed out tomorrow morning at 0530 to maximize the day.

We are about a mile into the Dictum Ridge trail. Slow going but nice. With the snow it's very pretty.

Did anyone else get out this weekend? We finished out the weekend with a trip to Reddish Knob. What a great weekend. Pics & trip report to follow later in the week.
