Black Friday Flagpole Jaunt

Hey Guys,

Let's get away from the holiday stress on the day after thanksgiving by hitting some trails. Let's get away from the assholes that are willing to punch people in the face at 6am for this years hottest christmas toy. Let's get away from your aunt Berta who lives with her boyfriends second cousins wifes friend, let's get away from it all by hitting some damn trails. No details are set yet as Mr. Allen at Jeep Talk (on Facebook) is the head honcho for this ride. (I am just the messenger). Let's get some people lined up and start setting up!

It is a great trail. There are some things you can do to make the trip more exciting, but, there are also ways around it if you do not feel like it.

Flagpole is a great trail with amazing views! Perfect for stock jeeps or anyone just looking to get off the beaten path! I went with a group two weeks ago and it was great! The last picture I posted is the "hardest mud hole" we came across but 3 stock jeeps made it through in 4x4 L but still a lot of fun! Have fun on your trail ride and please post pictures!

Did you do all of Flagpole? The "mud hole" you pictured doesn't ring a bell. did you come in from Switzer and go out via Union Valley Road? I recognize what looks like your rigs parked at Meadow Knob on the trail but hthat mud hole doesn't look like those near the Staircase. Maybe it's just me, lol.

I'm not sure if we did "all" of flag pole but I know we did a good amount and that "mud hole" was near the almost very top. Is the "staircase" you're referring to like three different paths up one incline with the two on the outside very easy and the one in the middle more steep? I'll see if I have a better picture to show exactly where we were!

We don't have anything set in stone yet. I am sure we will be doing typical meeting points at the Sheetz in Haymarket and Harrisonburg. I will post up as soon as I find out.

I was thinking of meeting up at Sheetz in Haymarket at the customary 7:00am, ready to roll south by 7:30. Happy to organize the northern VA meetup, but need someone else to be the trail bozz.

Flagpole is definitely a good trail. I would come if I were you.

Is that what time you normally meet there? That sounds pretty early. Lol. I cannot remember what time I met with the guys last year there.

Sounds like a couple of different events being discussed here.... .??

Typically, rolling out of Haymarket Sheetz (I-66 and Hwy 15) at around 0730 will have you back in the Haymarket area around 1800.

I may be in... Might be my last ride in my 2013 Rubicon which will be for sale as I am upgrading to a 2014 GC Summit eco-diesel (new position, more driving, need more space).

Anyone bringing their kid? I got my 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son who are coming along with me.
If someone wants to meet somewhere in NOVA and caravan down to Haymarket let me know. I'll meet you and we can roll down there.
