Yeah, buddy. Diffused Rigids. Driver & passenger side.

I used their tail light mounting brackets, too.

Driven Mobile Electronics in Chantilly did the install. I put them on a 3 way switch. Always off/Always on/On in reverse.

I do have the little LED reverse replacement bulbs coming but they are back ordered. At this point they are probably superflous but I'm on an LED kick. I replaced the dome light and driving lights with LEDs recently.

Tomorrow, I'm getting the rest of my armor installed. I'm getting the Evo control arm skid plates welded on, relocating the steering stabilizer with a JKS kit, and installing the Rugged Ridge front skid plate and engine skid.

I removed the rear seat and my sons built me a cool gear shelf complete with rachet tie downs. I'll post that project once I've taken it on a shakedown ride.

Serious threadjack!

Im in New Market (about 20 miles north of HBurg on 81 and we currently have around 20" of snow here. Took my JKU out this morning for a little fun, but I dont think it would be able to make it up flagpole with anywhere near this much snow. I would be shocked if it all melts by Saturday, even with the warmer temps.

Hey Smileguy49, is it a wet, clumpy snow or dry, powdery? Ours is wet up here near Dulles.

Ok, I'm going to have to see it when it's all done. I already have about half of what you listed, but that other half intrigues me! Very cool...

Has anyone been in contact with the North River Ranger District today? Smileguy says they got 20" up in New Market but the Weather.com radar doesn't any snow falling anywhere further down I81 and only about 2" of snow in Hburg of the past 24 hours.

Update:
Well guys (and gals) the snow is melting in town very quick, but I drove up on one of the mountains here in New Market this morning and there is still plenty of snow. As I passed onto the back side of the mountain the trees are still completely full of snow and the roads that were unplowed really put my jeep to the test. I will keep you all posted as to the mountain conditions here. Hope everyone got to get out and play in the snow yesterday!

I got to play in the slush for about 20 minutes before it all turned to water. It was nearly 40f up here yesterday.

Flagpole Knob trip 9 March 2013

FYI I know of one group that did Flagpole yesterday and the only problem they seemed to have is the snow was a little deep for non-lifted Jeeps. By Saturday there should be enough melted that all stock vehicles should be able to pass over the snow. Someone closer needs to recon for us!

Assuming that we are still on for a Flagpole Run for Saturday is there anyone interested in making a weekend of it by camping out and doing some wheeling on Sunday? There is a Navy base down there (go figure) I could check to see if they have transient quarters available for Sat night.

One post thread jack here. Can anyone anywhere near Alexandria help me with my SWR. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong with it, but any help would be appreciated. A beer or a few will be on me for the lucky taker. I am as open as a book until the trip on Saturday. PM me if you want to get together.

Update:
After the warm temps yesterday whats left of the snow seems to be easily managed in my stock jku. I am sure that after todays warmer temps it will be a great trip. I have never been up the "stairs" so I am unsure how that will be with snow, but everything else should be a blast. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it out tomorrow due to work schedule, but I wish everyone who is going a great time.

So what is the final word for the trip plan? How many people should we be expecting at each rally point?

I know of at least 2 other groups going so you shouldn't feel alone by any means. Sounds like it will be like a WalMart parking lot Saturday on the trail. That many rigs is bound to draw the attention of the FS police so you guys be careful - and smart- out there. Hope you have a great trip!!

My wife & I are definitely going tomorrow. We have a 3 bedroom cabin reserved at Sugar Grove Navy base just down the road if there's another couple that would like to split it with us. After the Flagpole run we plan to check out some other forest roads nearby. We'll eat dinner and spend Sat night on the base. Get up early Sunday morning and check out Long Run and German River roads.

I'm going to have to probably drop out. I'm picking up a friend from out of town tonight that's staying this weekend and have to get the bike together tomorrow in the AM so we can go riding.

Hey guys, I'm not going to br able to make it. My wife is sick and my daughter isn't feeling well. As for the ride someone can take over. I am really sorry to bail on you guys, but family comes first.

That's a tough one new lift, new tires, new onboard air you don't get to go. Hope your wife and daughter are well soon.

I'm still in. I think we should stick to the plan. Can anyone tell me what the plan is?

I hope they get better soon. We will see you again sometime.

Dan, I'm still in and I have a friend coming from work. Kawa/Vance was still in. I think others as well. If you want to lead (I've only done FP once so I'm not comfortable leading) we could still do the meet up in Gainesville at 7:15. I think we were departing at 7:45 o meet anyone else in Harrisonburg then hit it.

We may want to go up the fire road from Briery Branch. That's supposed to be easier in bad conditions. Assuming its still bad.
