Might be a dumb question...

but I was wondering if anyone can give me a definite answer on VA laws for driving with your doors off. I have heard it is ok so long as you have a driver side mirror and interior rearview mirror and that there is supposedly a mount you can buy to mount your mirrors once the doors are off, anyone know where you can get said mount?

I have a setup with a strip of velcro on the side of the dash that I attach a convex mirror to... Cost about 4 bucks and works good enough for me and no trouble from the cops... Also many around here buy motorcycle mirrors, generally Harley. I haven't looked, but apparently they slide in the hinge half and after a couple wrench turns are snug enough to drive 60+, and again only a few bucks at a salvage yard.....

Good luck.

Just about every online Jeep supplies company sells mirror relocation brackets. They usually attach to your windshield hinge brackets

VA law requires your rearview mirror and at least the driver side mirror, passenger is optional, thats 100 percent im positive..ive heard the harley mirror thing, but i know i store downtown here in roanoke has both brackets for like 30, ive seen the ones on quadratec and 4wd and such that have the mirror relocator plus the bracket wraps around and has the option to put lights on there as well, those run about the same price

I had a state trooper tell me that the law demands any vehicle newer than 1997 have at least driver side mirror and rear view mirror. Before 1997, external mirrors not necessary. But with all the cheap fixes suggested ( especially like the Velcro + convex mirror idea) why take a chance?
