OEM Sub Woofer information

I have a 2003 Wrangler Sport with the 7 speaker sound system that includes a powered sub woofer in the center console. Unfortunately, the sub blew out on my wife while I was overseas. The dealership had a hard time fining the part number and when they foundit, wanted over 600 for the part. Does anyone know where I can find an OEM or aftermarket sub that will fit the console? I thought I could get by without it but the sound system sounds like crap without the speaker.

There was a thread on this in the TJ forum. I think it said that the stock sub has a special adapter that makes it fit into the wiring harness. Personally I put a 12" in the rear. Takes up alot of space but it sounds great!

from what I understand, the stock subwoofer is a one ohm speaker, and a normal aftermarket speaker won't sound very good.

I'll keep plugging my in-seat subwoofer. You get to keep all your storage space, and it really hits hard - Subwoofer inside of a Jeep Wrangler rear seat - Jeepz.com
