There WAS a place off London Bridge Road but the city put up those little barrier signs. Now I DID find what looks like trail going back in the woods. If you go down London Bridge from International and make the first right turn where the woods end and the industrial area starts, go to the curve and there will be a few Jersey walls blocking the road ( yea right :) ) you can see where somebody hoped the curb and went back there, I was gonna the other day bu I don;t have a recovery strap in the Jeep yet, and I really didn't have the time to check it out, ALSO off off dam neck I saw spot where it looks like somebody went back in a field, but I think that was just the guys from Taylor farms

I'm pretty sure it connects with the other old trails, since the only other place it could go is into the canal, last time I was at the entrance on London Bridge I was in a Red 89 S-10 Blazer pulling a Cherokee out that decided he could go anywhere he wanted and got stuck up to his hood LOL.

Dunno if this is a old road , trail or what but on the new section of Buckner ( Holland and Shipps corner), going away from Holland on Buckner off on the right in the first little gonna be turn someday there looks like a spot where a road used to be, saw it this morning when I actually had time to slow down. can't be too long though cause theres houses everywhere over there.

I've got a friend with property in Pungo that I have permission to wheel as long as we're respectful and don't tear up the lawn as we go in, and I belong to a local Tidewater Jeep club that wheels in Crozet Va, it's $25 for a yearly membership, and $25 a day per vehicle for trail maintenance... Pm me if you want more details.

There is a place that I venture to sometimes. Its off Exploration way near Langley AFB. There isn't much around the entrance but at the end of the road it turns into what looks an old maintanence road. No signs sayin don't enter or barriers BLOCKIN the way. Its a nice mile or 2 trail that goes back in the woods. There are 2 real nice mud holes and also goes by 2 small ponds so take ya a fishin rod if ya wanna check it out. Never SEEN anyone else back there but there is always evidence that someone else was there since my last visit :) I'll try to get some pics of it up later...

Myself and a few of my fellow Jeep friends are going wheeling tomorrow on my friends private property in Pungo if anyone is interested in going. We're all meeting at Beach Garden Park at the Ocean Front in VA Beach to do a park clean up, then leaving from there to go wheeling. Here's a link to the Meeting location for anyone interested: Virginia Beach, Virginia - Google Maps

We're meeting at the park at 10am, we will prolly be leaving around 1130 or noonish to head out to my friends property. We might stop for lunch somewhere on the way, or we might decide to just do a cook out once we get to the property in Pungo, I guess we'll decide that tomorrow at the meetup. PM me your phone number and I'll text you what ever we decide and give you directions. I don't want to post up the adress online because my buddy doesn't want anyone wheeling his land unless someone he trusts is there to make sure his land isn't getting trashed out.

Looking for this thread. is it in the virginia jeep forum section.

Also, while i'm here, let me get the first of many novice questions out there. What supplies (emergency, etc.) are a must to carry when going off road?

thanks
Welcome Robert!

As far as what could be carried, and what is the minimum are 2 different things.

What kind of emergency are you wanting to plan for?

KMA park clean tomorrow 12-3-11

Anyone in the area feel free to show up and help KMA Jeep Klub clean the beach Garden park. It's something we do to help promote comunity acceptance for off road vehicles.

Here's a link to a map of where it's located: Beach Garden Park

The Meet and Greet/Park Clean is tomorrow morning at 10 AM for anyone interested.

Thanks!

I can be in VA beach in about a hour. So its not that fare.

I never heard of hardy
I'm In Norfolk, Dipstick is in Franklin, And I'm with him that I've never heard of Hardy, :)

Anywho... KMA Jeep Klub is based out of Va Beach, and we have members from Elizabeth City, Suffolk, Hampton, NewPort News, Norfolk, Va Beach, Chesapeake, and many other city's in south eastern Va. We wheel in Crozet Va, Harlan Ky, Tinsley Va, Big Dogs, Rauch Creek, Uwharrie, GNF, Pungo Va, and various other areas. The point being... we actually go wheeling. We also do a meet and greet just about every Saturday morning at 10 AM, and on the first Saturday of the month we do a park clean in Va Beach as a way to give back to the comunity. We also do a beach clean in Corova NC once a year as well.
