Awesome. We will decide a time and meeting area and all the more detailed stuff as its closer. But looks to be July 13 for sure. I have a 07jku sahara 3" lift, 35 mudgrapplers, and a winch. Buddy has 13 jku sahara same setup but km2s

My buddy and I still have this on the calendar. I would say we are 50/50 though between Potts or going to Harlan Ky.

Well we were 100% Potts until we were not able to make it to Harlan this weekend. I ordered a new rear diff cover to replace my leaking stocker and the one I ordered wasn't formed right so I was stuck putting my stocker back on and didn't want to risk it. So it killed our whole trip.

Oh so tempting but I'm going to wait until I've put 35's on my JK.

Yeah. I really beat my JK up at the last Big Dogs. Plus I want the clearance for snow wheeling. Plus you got
me thinking about a Rubi xfer case.

We were looking at Big Dogs website yesterday at what was on the calendar there. Did you have a good time there? Other than wishing you had 35's?

Rubi Trans Case is nice, especially if you don't plan on re-gearing your axles.

I like the Big Dogs events. I've done the last two and plan to be at the next one. There are trails for everyone there. It's a guided venue. I recommend checking out at least one.

I am planning to regear to 5.13. Would a Rubi transfer case be overkill in that case?

I thought you had a 2012? If you have a 2012 you don't need anything more than 4.10's to run 35's. Your 3.73 wouldn't be that bad with the tires and the 4:1 Rubi case would be great.

Don't waste the money on 4.10s. They cost extra and it's not that big of a difference to go to 4.56s. The 4.56s will give you like Rubi performance. I run 4.56s with my 2013 and 35" KM2s and its a great setup.

I have a 2013 JK Auto. There's a gearing matrix here http://www.tnjeeps.com/uploads/galle..._46_206669.jpg that I'm using to help me decide what gearing to go with. 5.13 seems optimal and would permit 37s if I decide later to go that route.

Your looking at the wrong chart! Thats for the old 3.8L engine. See below:

If you are thinking 37's are potential then I would go with 4.56. I have read good things on this. Some people have gone 4.88's. I would rather have better mileage and plan on going 4.56 if I tell myself 40's will never happen.

Hey Nemo, did you ever make it to Potts? I'm planning to run it again this year once I get my 35s on.

We did go last weekend and had a great time. There were two groups up there. One group of 9 Jeeps out of a club in Lynchburg were up there and as we were finishing caught a couple guys from a group out of NC. It was really wet and slick though. I didn't do majority of the obstacles and Steve couldn't get up on most of them anyways. But was still a fun little ride.

If you ever want to come down just give me couple weeks notice and we will go. I know Steve has a busy fall coming up but if you give enough notice hopefully we could meet and go on a Sunday morning like last time.

That's saying a lot if Steve's rig was challenged. Are you on 37's yet?

Yea, just challenged because of the damp conditions, short wheelbase and his rig weighs so little.

Not yet, I need to find someone to buy my 35's before I would step up, plus I am trying to talk myself out of it just to limit the ability to break things. But I would like them! I also still need a front bumper and some better sliders. There was a guy getting off the trail the other day with the EVO sliders so I got to see those. I am torn between them and the ones you have. Also torn on what to do with the front bumper. Mixed between EVO and AEV. Can't decide. But I did put another dent in my stock bumper so I need to decide something sooner or later because its starting to look rough!

Ah next weekend not this one? I may be able to make it then. Need to get the exhaust spacers in though. Driveshaft boot was rubbing on the exhaust when we installed my lift

Going to be a slick wet day on potts today! I would not take anything with less than 33's, not saving you couldn't make it but body/undercarriage damage likely will happen because two places up there are pretty rough.

How well you can do on 31s (or any size tire for that matter) will depend on how wetness of the trail and your ability to pick good lines. Those aren't the only factors though. I went up in 32s, under dry conditions, and with two locals guiding and I still scraped a lot.

Watch my vid and get a better idea:

The big YK is doing the optionals towards the trail end. You don't have to do those.

Also, while I love to wheel solo I would not consider getting on that trail by myself.

Yeah when that trail is wet, all bets are off, that trail is not for the faint of heart. But, obstacle wise, that is the best trail Virginia has to offer.

How's the trail on normal conditions turbo. Not the obstacles just the trail? Me an most of my buddies have 35's on a 2.5" lift or 2" suspension an 1" spacer so all sitting around 3-3.5". Would love to try the trail since it is close but would rather not have any serious damage at this point in time
