Sept sounds great. Let's start picking a date and try to get some people out! I will say the larger the group the earlier the start time.

I know my buddy and I are looking at either the 10th or 17th at Harlan KY if anyone is thinking about heading that direction.

The video of the burgundy cherokee which was labeled "another bypass" has been removed. ( I have a name also, not sure if its the person who owns jeep or did the recording). He was using the illegal trail at "The Stacks" he keep hitting it and just spinning, backing up and hit it again spinning. Remember seeing that video? I'm not just making this up or guessing where pics are taken at. I understand it makes you mad but chill somebody screwed up. I understand it happened during the time most were trying to get the white ford truck fixed. I don't expect anyone to give me or the rangers that video but if I had it they would see it. I would hope anytime anyone is up there doing something they shouldn't you would snap a pic with the plate visible and get in touch with the proper authorities.

We will be at the bottom trail head between 9:30-10 to air down and disconnect. Everyone should have recovery points front and rear, a full size spare and skids/rocker protection. Pack a sandwich and some drinks we will eat lunch in the field.

Directions to Potts Mountain Jeep Trail; From Salem take SR311 north to New Castle. Go right on SR615. At "The Pines" restaurant go left on SR609. Turn left on SR611. Turn right on SR617. You will see a sign that says "Potts Mountain Trail" on your left. This will take you to the top entrance, just follow the signs. For the bottom entrance continue straight on SR617 until you pass "The Pines" campground, the lower entrance will be on your left a mile or so past the campground. Its not marked very well so slow down and look for it.Once at the top there are two ways to get back to New Castle;1) turn right out of the parking area then make an immediate left on Potts East Road. Drive straight until reach SR311. Go left to get back to town.2) turn left out of the parking area and stay on the fire road until you reach a "T" in the road, go left. This will take you back to SR617 where the "Potts Mountain Trail" sign was at. If you go left you will go back to the campground and lower trail entrance. If you go right you will turn left on SR611 then right on SR609. This will take you back to "The Pines" restaurant.

i've been waiting for someone to respond.
complete silence.

if this is true, which it seems like as the folks who where jumping up and down about how they were on the trail, always! on the trail, etc.., made no rebuttal...

some of you younger folks / new to VA dont realize over the last 10-20 years the number of public wheeling trails is shrinking. actions like this gives ammunition to the groups that dont like our hobby.
"look, they cant even stay on the trails we let them use".

these groups have money. they have time. they have connections. they get trails closed.

kephart trail? gone
dry river / salt shed trail? gone
etc...

look at some of the topics here
"old cardinal swamps" - illegal. why is this being discussed here?
occasionally you get people posting about illegal trails in my area (va beach).

-end rant. have a nice day.

Here is a link to some random pictures and video I had from the day. I posted 3 other videos to my channel besides this one. The other 3 are just my Jeep though. Next time I need to bring a second gopro so I can carry it in my pocket and take more video of others while watching and not driving.
