Love to join you guys at Potts but we are camping at shoe creek tomorrow and then making the run on Sunday with a mixture of stock and modified Rigs (also camping with us).

We are hoping to connect with you all to run Potts again in OCT.

Me and my father in law are talking about going up there the 21st I do have a quick question. Me and him recently purchased a trailer to haul our jeeps to places cuz we don't live near any were for example we are at least 2 hours from potts and its cheaper to tow them with his f350 than it is for us to drive plus that way we don't have to worry about breaking anything and being stranded. My question is do u guys think that we can get it into the upper area and do u think it will fit. Its a 34 foot deck gooseneck and he has a 99 f350 4 door short bed. Just don't wanna get there and not have any were to park the truck and trailer while we go thru the trail. Thanks

Or can we park it along the road at the lower entrance cuz we usually go from bottom to top. I know I've seen trucks parked along the road other times we go up. But they were just trucks driven by I assume hunters.

Others would know better than me but there is also the campground just down the road that you might be able to park in. Maybe a mile from the trail head?

We usually meet at the campground near the bottom entrance. Last trip, 2 of my buddies trailered there rigs, one a f250 ext cab with a trailer a little bigger than his xj and another f350 4dr long bed with a ranger on a small trailer. But, people usually don't park there rigs at the top of the trail(not that I've seen) so you may be able to squeeze it in up there. But it seems like your tow rig is pretty big, it would be tight both ways...

Do u know if the campground is open our if u have to have a reservation In other words can we just pull it in there and park and not have to worry about getting a fine from the rangers or do we need to call the ranger station. Cuz I think parking at the campground will be our best bet cuz that's close to the bottom were we start at anyway. And its not to far from the service road u come out on from the top

I'm pretty sure that it is open, and no reservation is needed. But if you know a number to call, it wouldnt hurt. And as for getting a fine, I don't know if you can get one or not, but I would think no.

I don't think you need a reservation, none of the guys I went with that trailered mentioned it so I'm thinking no. As long as your not parked in the way of any places a vehicle will drive I'd say your fine. And just an FYI, when you come into the campground and turn right, they parked off the little gravel road, behind the bathrooms on the right side near a BBQ pit and a picnic table.

We are pretty much open any weekend in Oct. Are you talking finishing it in the dark?

Do people camp in that open field? That might be an interesting thing to do as well.

Yes people camp in the field, just have to really watch campfires when the wind up there gets to blowing.
