Red Cloud Offroad Park

Just got back from Shoe Creek this past weekend and really craving to go hit some more trails. Thinking of going to red cloud on the 25th if anyone is interested in tagging along. Only $40 to play on 200 acres for the day.

If my new Rubi arrives in time, I'm down!

I may be down for that, though pretty much a rookie to off roading. I'm running stock setup and have a trail/recovery kit.

I'm Definately a rookie as well. I usually play in the mud and shoe creek was my first "rock climbing" experience. Google Red Cloud Offroad Park and watch some YouTube videos about it. It's all mud, no rocks. It's stock friendly so you shouldn't have any problem. Do a little research and let me know for sure, only because you have to pay in advance to get into the park.

Yeah, I read about the advance fee on their website. It looks like a good place and they're supposed to have easy (green) trails. I should know by this weekend if I'm good to go.

I was talking to a guy on a Facebook group I'm on and he said it's worse than usually due to all the rAin recently so he told me to be prepared to winch a lot. Which doesn't bother me.

Hey just a quick note on Red Cloud. The place is REALLY cool, and has tons to do. Just make certain you're comfortable doing what you want to do. There is a lot there to put your Jeep to the test, and while most folks think mud is easier than rock, the mud can do just as much damage to your rig. Just be on the look out for the Greens, and make certain you're comfortable with the Blues. There was one trail that was marked Green and only turned into a Blue before it was too late. The pucker factor on it turned into Black, and you need to be comfortable with the possible damage that could be inflicted on your rig before you get in too far. Would definitely go back, but would also be a little more conservative 2nd time around.

I hear ya there. When I eventually go it will be my first outing off road so I'll be sticking to greens and trying to stayvaway from any blues. Thanks for the warning. Not wanting to break my JK I've only had for 2 1/2 months.

Anyone make it out there? If so. How was it?

I'd like to get out there one of these weekends if there is stuff suitable for a newbie with a stock rubicon.

Hello all,

I am new to the site and need some help figuring out what might be wrong with me rig. I went off-roading with a friend of mine in Stafford through some power line trails, and while we were out there I noticed my front driver side wheel was making a loud screech but only once per rotation. We figured I just picked up a rock in the brake components and it would work it’s self out. We went through some more trails and the noise had subsided. However once we were done and got on pavement to get back home my ESP/BAS, SLIP, and ABS lights come on. I have done some research on what it may be but I would like to get some advice from some people before putting it in the shop.

Side note: I have taken my JEEP off-roading and I know when I do trails with a lot of water holes they have come on but go back of after I turn it off and back on again, however at this point it has been4 days and the lights are still on.

This post had some good info for you, BigDawg. The very last post said something about the ABS sensors being dirty, which is the first thing I would have thought of, or they could be damaged.

Of course the posts there also state everything under the sun, standing on one leg while balancing the tire jack on your nose, etc....

I may be up for that. What color trails you thinking about running? This is my first Jeep (bought in Nov 13) and pretty new to off-road, so I read they have green trails for beginners. I have a recovery kit but no winch. Just need to get a fire extinguisher to meet the required items.

Thanks, I'll check out the Depot. Also I'm pretty much a stock Sport, with LSD/3.73 gears, Silent Armor tires and rock rails.
