Bummer! I have to work...otherwise I'd be going!

On a different note, its not Shoe Creek but it is really close, any one going to Wheelin for hope in Arrington, VA towards the end of April? Wheelin for Hope

Figured it would be a good ride for those of you who could make it!

Hopefully it won't be me last time I was there got some body damage off of one of the rocks, and last time I went to uwharrie I blew my rear end up, but hopefully the d44 that I just put it solved that problem

I know you're all excited about the potts trip- but the date we have set up for shoe creek is sat the 6th of april. our group has a few stock jeeps so we can't be doing anything too extensive yet.

Hey if you are going to shoe creek would you mind if my wife and i possibly tag along? I've been wanting to go for awhile but I'm hesitant to try a new trail without someone else(i have no friends with 4 wheel drive). Im running a stock Jeep with 30s. Thanks!

Not a problem! and you are right to be hesitant to try a new trail alone! you should NEVER go wheelin alone!!!

We are driving all the way from virginia beach! so we have to leave around 430- 5 I believe to get there around 9-10ish maybe a bit later depending on traffic? we are having a cookout this weekend to try and get all the details finalized. I'll update you guys with the details and see if we can come up with a meet up point. I believe there's a convienently placed food lion usually used for these meet ups!

I live in Scottsville so its not terribly far for me either. My wife might not be able to make the trip with us(i posted a reply before i asked if she could go).if she can't i probably won't make it either as that will only be our second weekend together and I'd rather be home spending time with her. That and I'd never hear the end of it if i go play in the woods and don't spend time with her so soon after our wedding rofl

Let us know when you talk to her!! It's funny that you mention saying you could go before talking to her, because I set up this whole trip before ever talking to my husband! lol, luckily he is always willing to go! We are making a day trip out of it and not a whole weekend camping event, if that helps.

But don't neglect the new wifey and make the woods your mistress- then she will never let you out to play! lol we plan to do a few trips up there and i know once it starts getting really warm a lot more groups go, so if you can't make it this time there's always next time!

Haha sorry all black JKs are equal in my eyes though. Do you know where the trailhead is? Is it where google maps shows it to be?

Lol you can have the house i don't want in on that!!! the whole last point of that drive was creepy pulling on to rd, route, drive (or whatever it was) 666 and there being a church right smack in front of the sign, then the creepy old man with the 100 dogs and coveralls....i felt like an idiot in a horror movie driving into the woods where i would ultimately lose cell reception get flat tires, run out of gas and have my spark plugs fall out...then walk willingly into the house of a creepy old man and not suspect a thing....

As, i really don't know that area, at all i'm not sure if that's the foodlion. I was going to google that later today. As far as you know, is that the closest foodlion to the trail?

That sounds about right from what I remember. I will double check tonight and let you know about the foodlion's location, and hopefully our estimated time of arrival to said foodlion.
