This is a great time and a great way to give back to the environment and remind the community we value our natural resources. I went last year and loved it. We had food afterwards, and of course a few of us found a few places to wheel behind the dunes (be very mindful of wildlife, especially the wild horses). I have recently moved south and wish I could go. I encourage everyone to go out. Even novice Jeepers will do fine. At the time my rig was on a tired old engine and I rarely needed 4WD to get through the beaches. Hope everyone can go and have a nice day.

my first ever day with my (new to me) Jeep on the beach during last year's event.

Not going to make it after all. Wife's grandmother passed away last night and the funeral has been scheduled for Saturday.

Maybe next year.

I am thinking about going, I just got a jeep and the previous owner did not like the spare tire look, so I am without a spare. How essential is a spare on the beach?

Not very. I drive on the beach quite a bit. Done it for years now and have never needed the spare.. (knock on wood)

There will be 50 other Jeeps out there, and most will have spare tires, so the worst case is if you managed to flatten a tire on the Beach, someone would have one that you could use. The chances of a flat tire on the beach are slim to none, but I would stop short of saying non existant.

I hope to see you down there this Saturday!

BUMP!

This is only a day and a half away!

Some folks are meeting up at Border station around 7 am Saturday morning and then they're all going to caravan down from there.

I hope to meet some of you local Jeepers there!

I plan on driving down NOVA, see you there. Where's the typical jumping off point? I've never been before.

When you get to the beach drive north towards the Virginia border, we'll have a canopy and table set up. Carova is all the way up the beach so don't think you're going the wrong way if you drive for a while before you see us.

Fun!

Looked like fun, I want to join KMA, unfortunatly I do not have too many saturdays off, I do work in the after noon so a morning run close by would be all I can do. I leave for Afghanistan in April and I just bought my Jeep so I want to get off road as much as I can. Im bummed I couldnt make it down on Sat the wife was not to happy about going down there for just a day so we ended up doing other things.

Feel free to join up any ways, we have lots of local members who are good at fixing Jeeps, and some that are good at doing custom mods. We do at least a dozen runs a year, prolly closer to 20-25ish, so there is always something to do. Plus if you decide that you're gonna go wheel some place that fits your schedule, you can always post up on the forum and invite everyone and there will usually be several Jeepers that will want to go, so you'll always have trail buddies when you're off road.
