Here's a couple options!

Virginia Offroad - Google Maps

A great local VA/MD/DC club that does trail rides every month

Hope to see you on the trails soon!

Shoe Creek is OK for stock. I have 2.5 inch lift and it is no problem.

Coryb426 wants to meet at noon on Sat 2/25. I am planning on being there.

Cory you want to meet at the bottom entrance, right? NOT the entrance near Montebello?

Just a trail up the side of the mountain. Some big rocks you can go over or around. Several water crossings. You can run it stock. If you're looking for a REAL challenge - you should probably look elsewhere.

Yep, by accident we wound up with my new Rubi on one of the ATV trails in the snow back in October. Hairy, hairy experience but I proved that the Rubi can even do ATV trails!

Does anyone have any good directions on how to get to stoney creek? I know how to get to Shoe Creek (I saved it in my GPS when some one showed me) but that's the only trail that I know of around there. Thank you so much in advance.

The Cove Campgrounds in Gore Va, West of Winchester, is where Big Dogs have there events.
Some clubs like Off-Camber Crawlers and KGB are allowed to wheel there on certain weekends too. The Cove offers ATV and MTB trails, shooting range, fishing, canoeing, camping, etc most of the year also. You have to be part of an approved event to Wheel your Jeep at The Cove.

Justin ... I'm retired and would care to explore Craig County, what kind of trails are out your way? Have you explored them all? I'm trying to explore every USFS Ranger district in Virginia. Next week is VA4WDA Annual trail ride and got a couple of things scheduled in October. What's your timetable?

Want to take the wife and 1 yr old daughter out on some trails. Was thinking GW but want to make sure they are very lame/tame! I get my rocks off at RC, but want to do a family picnic/off road day. Are the GW trails really calm or is it jerky?

They're both. Flagpole trail is long, has plenty of mud, moderately bumpy and good lookout/picnic areas.

All you need to do is make a thread saying: have land, need to cut trails, come help and I will give you written permission to wheel. There is a couple guys on the forum in this area that have done such and I know a bunch of people showed up with rigs, shovels, chainsaws, etc....
