Virginia Sales Tax Increase Question

I have a Wrangler on order, IAMJEEP says the secheduled ship date is the 26th, so I don't see it arriving and in my hands before the 1st when the sales tax goes up 1%. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the transaction completed BEFORE delivery in order to avoid the increase? I would hate for my amazing negoation skills to have been wasted by the tax man.
Thanks for any advice.

I would ask the dealership, but I would think that they cant title your jeep until they you receive it.

Unfortunately, taxes apply when you take delivery. I ordered mine last week, and I'll have to pay the 4% tax. It's supposed to go up again later on down the line, so there's that at least.
