1 inch motor mount spacer install

Is there a easy way to install the motor mount spacers? The instructions that came with the spacers were not very good. Needing better instructions.

Easiest way I've found is to pay someone else.

I think he has the budget spacer blocks. Not the full replacements.

I thought the directions that came with the JKS were ok. Losen everything first and keep a jack below the engine.

Are you doing it at the same time as a BL or have you already done that and relocated your shroud? If so you'll have to move it back.

The most annoying part is cutting the threads down on the old mounts. Also if you have AC you have to pull the entire bracket off the engine block (really easy, but more work).

Take your time with it and dive in, you'll do fine. It's easier then it seems.

I just loosened the mount to the eng block bolts and that let me slide the MM bolt past the A/C bracket. When I put it back in I put the MM bolt in from the rear so I would never have to do that again.

I might have done that too. Honestly, after I put It back together I never thought about it again except to recheck torque about two weeks later.

I just pulled the whole mount out though.

Thanks for the help! I got the spacers installed. I removed the driverside totally off the engine and reinstalled it with the through bolt backwards incase I had to remove again. It was easy! Didnt have to trim the factory bolt on the MM at all. I installed the BL before I got the MM spacers. On the 4.0 the fan shroud on the passenger side I didn't have a way to drill new holes due to not having a place to drill on the shroud. I didn't want to fabricate brackets so the spacers were needed. I don't like anyone working on my vehicles when I can do it myself "MR.CLIFFARD". When I could put that money towards something needed. I was just asking to see if I was overlooking something. Anyone replace your stock fan with a electic fan? Thats my next project.

Believe it or not. But there are people with all kinds of skills who can fabricate and build stuff with ease. I have not such skills, but cam do quite a bit, myself. I read a lot.

Do you have any pics of these garage built wonders? I'd like to see what someone could churn out of a 2 car garage.

I'll get you a few links later. But people install fans from Taurus's and bolt in after market electric fans all the time. Even the editors if JP Magazine suggest this as a way to cut weight taking out thr clutch fan.

I found a picture where this guy put a ford taurus fan in a jeep to cool his LT1.

Isn't that a Vette motor? And are you still skeptical that people with mechanical knowledge can do the job?

Since this thread started 3 years ago my original opinion still stands. The easiest way to get something done is pay a professional. It is pretty easy to punch in your pin number. But you don't get much reward out of it.

I have seen some pretty amazing stuff come out of a two car garage when a little bit of determination goes with it.

Then why did you ask,

"Do you have any pics of these garage built wonders? I'd like to see what someone could churn out of a 2 car garage."

Senseless.

It is called sarcasm. And your sense of humor button is broken. The LT1 pictured above was my Jeep with a Taurus fan. It turned out like this...

I've also built this rig in a 2 car garage...

Anything is possible when motivation drives you. The OP decided to call me out specifically. My comments were merely in the sense of the thread.

Broken? No. You just failed to deliver, that's okay though. The sense of the thread was that you gave advise for both jobs (the motor mounts and the electric fan) to be done by a paid professional. Then you said people building in their own garages is nonsense.

And the fact that you told me to show you photos of these "garage build wonders" gave the implications of skepticism. I can understand that you were being sarcastic after the last comment you posted, but it just seems that you used "sarcasm" as a scapegoat so it didn't sound like you were contradicting yourself.

I'm not saying you were not actually being sarcastic, though. Just know that some sarcasm doesn't carry through a text or post in writing. Kind of like if I were to say that "it's not true that Ford manufactured more Jeeps than Willys." If you didn't know I already knew that and told you how many Ford actually made, you would not find that as sarcasm.

Nice rigs, though. I'm impressed by the nonsense it is that you built those in your two car garage! The sarcasm was in the word nonsense, not the word impressed. Because they are really nice rigs.

So were you also being sarcastic when you said "I found a picture where this guy put a ford taurus fan in a jeep to cool his LT1" and referred to yourself as this guy?

Maybe you would understand the sarcasm a bit better had you been here a bit longer. Many people on this forum know what I do and that I suggest many people take it under their own power to build their rig themselves.

I understand that you can't understand it. But many others do. The sarcasm I am referring to is that people pay professionals to work on their jeep. When in reality I suggest others do it themselves. Just like I do. I was being sarcastic when I made mention that someone pay someone else to work on their own rig.

Just like I did with you. You were referring to my comments as if I meant them in truth. So I let you play along. I told you that others had done such work when I knew truthfully that it isn't that difficult to install a ford taurus fan. I know so because I've done it myself on many different jeeps.

If you go back and read my comments in the sense that I was merely trying to get a laugh it will read much different to you. Which is really all I care to do anymore. Make people laugh.

We aren't so far out on terms. If you read back through the thread I stated the word Nonsense and meant it as sarcasm as well.
