I only know of 2 parks in Kansas, Tuttle Creek, up by Manhattan, and Kansas Rocks, near Fort Scott, KS Rocks Park.

Well, being in KC, Kansas Rocks is closer, but I used to work weekends, so I ended up going to Tuttle Creek most of the time. There is also S.M.O.R.R., near Seymore, Mo. Here are a couple of web sites I found, not sure how accurate they are, RiderPlanet USA - ATV Trails, Motorcycle Trails, Motocross Tracks and Dirtopia. The first one, Rider Planet, is mostly for ATVs and bikes, but they do have some 4x4 places listed. You might want to check into a local club, some of them have access to private property.

Is this thread still monitored? I'm in Hutch and just purchased a 2000 stock TJ ( has issues, but that is another thread). We used to have a local club called the Kansas Off Road Rangers, but after about a year or so, it kind of became a drinking, who has the loudest engine, non family friendly lets see who can break their 4x4s first kind of thing. It has been 6 or 7 years, perhaps it is time to revive the club and turn it into something? I'm willing to help organize and I'm still in contact with some of the original members.

Thoughts?

Pieter

I may be interested. I joined the Rangers, went to 1 event and then they seemed to disband. That was a few years bak.

Hmmm, You went to one event and they disbanded? . . .
We should get together - that has happened to me many times in my life.

seriously, though - are there any public 4 wheeling locations in the sand hills north of Hutch?

There are some fire trails up north, but most of them are on private property. There is a Rice County wheelers club that wheel around the ark river and I believe there is public access, but not sure. They have a FB page that had a couple of conversations about it. I'd be willing to put together a small group to hit Ks Rocks or Randolf some weekend.
