| Carburetor for 89 YJ
What do you guys recommend?
It's currently my DD and has a 4" lift with 35's. I need it to be street legal obviously, so what would be a good replacement for my stock carb on my stock engine.
I was looking at the Weber Carburetor Kit 32/36mm DGEV.
Good? Crap?
Advice?
Thanks!

I had read that. Is the MC2100 swap street legal still? It never answered that question.

Also, how difficult is it to fabricate the part? I was really just looking for a bolt on.
I work 50hrs a week and go to school for 10 more right now. My time is very limited.
(I'm typing this from class)

I looked into a TBI conversion, but it was $1200ish for the kit and $800 for labor install (I don't have time) and I don't really wanna drop 2k right now.

I have the weber 32/36 most of the time runs really good but once in a while I have a hard time getting it started other times will just shut off with no warning, I hear the
mc2100 is a good replacement.

I'm a total rookie but I've just done a swap on Sunday from a terrible sputtering Carter to a balls-out manual Motocraft 2100 for under $300. Early days yet, but the change so far is just immense. I love my jeep again!
See my other post for some more details here |

It shut off on me today on my way home from work, but I wiggled the pressure regulator and it made a hissing noise, it seems as if the regulator wasn't letting gas flow to the carb, Ill replace it tomorrow and keep you posted.

See my other post for some more details here | I've heard I'd need a part fabricated. Is this true? If so, can you post a picture or explain it? Or, does this kit on ebay come with the part fabricated.
What year is your YJ?

I haven't yet. Don't have the time currently. I think I will go with a MC 2100. I just need to have the time to spend. Hopefully in the next few weeks here. I'll update when it gets done, but don't hold your breath. |

I didn't notice in the thread. But make sure you get the 1.08 venturi Motorcraft 2100. They were found on small block(302/351W) engines. I found mine on ebay for $40. The adapter plate you need is available through Summit Racing. Once the electric choke is sorted out, you will be pleased.
