fuel filler tube

Ours was rotted to the point that at 1/2 a tank it'd start leaking when filling up. Called around to a few parts stores, even quadratec...no one has one for a 14 gal tank. So I called the dealer only to find out they are discontinued?!?! How can a part like that be discontinued? Guess I am the only person left with a 14 gal gas tank...lol Anyway what do you guys think a good replacement for this hose would be?

Go to 4wd.com. They have it for your YJ, if it's an 89, part # 52040078 15 gal. tank. You either have a 15 or 20 gal tank. 15 for 4cyl. 20 for 6cyl. unless you swapped out the engine.

I'm not sure if this is completely true but I've heard that they cut some costs by using a 20 gallon tank for all Jeeps and simply put a stopping mechanism at 15 gallons for some.

Or you could just attach 2 five gallon jeep cans and jerry rig something in the redneck fashion like put a couple spigots on the bottom of em and attach your fuel line to them....heh-heh. (don`t try this at home)
