Gas leak near the tank anyone?

Anyone had a leak back near the tank? More specifically close to the rear left tire. It seems to leak when on an incline, didn't notice it when I bought the jeep, but filled up for the first time the other week and the PO had performed the gas tank extension, don't know if I put too much gas in or what.

81 miles so far and the needle still is above F

I am experiencing the same thing... But its only every once in a while, I don't actually see fuel or any stains but the vapors are pretty strong.
Yeah as far as the mileage thing, I guess you have to use the first 5 gallons before the 15 gallon sensor starts working again... well it seems that way, but mine stops working at a 1/4 tank.

It may sound too easy but I had a gas leak and tracked it to my old locking gas cap. 10 dollars saved a lot of headache!

On my YJ it was the gasket between the fuel pump assy and the top of the tank.......Not available from any parts house without a $230 fuel pump........Had to go direct to Chrysler for something like $20.

Double check to see if this gasket is part of the recall. You can have it fixed for free.

I did the gas tank mod to my YJ, on inclines I would get the gas smell, found it coming from the braether tube I had to remove for the mod, replaced the hose clamp with a new one, and used a wrench to tighten it, so I could get it as tight as I possable, problem solved.

I had a similar leak and it was the rubber hose that from the tank to the hard line.

For those that had the Jeep before Chrysler, before the 20 gallon tank disguised as a 15 gallon tank, there is a seal on the top of the tank that would crack. When I got the brake recall taken care of, they did the tank and the PCV Hose, not sure what else.
