Default Hard to get tranfer case from neutral to 2WD

When I tow my Jeep I put the transfer case in neutral. When I want to put it in gear, it goes into 4WD Hi without a problem, but getting it into 2WD is difficult. I have tried it stationary and while moving slowly. Is there a particular way to do it easily?

Replace the linkage for the transfercase. My friend has this and it works great.
