I have a 1994 YJ Wrangler and I just installed the hard top. It looks really good but the problem I'm having is that the tops of the solid half doors are waving in and out as I'm driving and cold air rushes in. I am now driving my Jeep to work and this morning it was below freezing and it was cold. Now my heater works fine but is over whelmed by the air flooding in. I looked at the doors and it appears that there is no way to seal them up or to keep them from flapping when I'm traveling and the faster I go the worse it is. Has this happend to anyone else? Any suggestions? What say you?

I would like to do that but I cant afford them, guess I'm stuck with what I got.

welcome to my world i have soft upper doors and they dont fit my hard top so i get a inch gap in the top of the door not fun on cold days but i live in the center of my town and only drive two mils to work

Well My doors are made for my top and they look great but there just not sealing.

So your saying that (i just want to make sure I'm right) you have half hard doors, and soft upper doors, and while driving the soft upper doors flap out due to pressure?

If so I've been thinking about a way to stop this because mine do it too, if you fabricate a latch system to hold the top of the door to the hardware then it stays in place

use the "bend and test" method. a little tweek and a little tweek there. not to worry, you'll get it.

This may not work for you if you got passengers all the time. But I took a bungee cord and hooked it around the roll bar and then on the top of the door. Drove though El Passo and the wind was about to blow the windows out of the Jeep. I just hooked the bungee straight across the top from door to door. Just be weary of if it breaks it will slap you in face.

I agree, bend them until them are sealed all around and adjust your door striker to hold the door tight.

No I have solid steel bottoms and my upper half is made of fiberglass and palstic with the glass that slides from fron to back or vice versa and there about 2" thick. They look really nice but due to the pressure they are flapping in the wind.

do you have a bar that goes from the roll bar to the windshield?

there are two bars that go from the roll bar to the windshield. they are support for the windshield. they are located by the doors. are they on your jeep? do you have a pic?

I have never seen a bar from the roll bar to anything? Should there be one? My cousins doesn't have one either?

Oh Ok you mean the tube that extends from the roll cage to the windshield. Yes mine does have that. I thought all Jeeps had that?

some folks remove it and that can cause safety issues. thought maybe yours was gone. do you have inserts in your lower doors? and are they tight in the doors?

i went to a truck stop and bought a portable heater like 20$ hooked it to the battery makes a world of difference. i have probs with cold air rushing in but extra heat helped alot.

LOL I hear ya but I dont think all the heat in the world can help ya if the wind is blowing directly in. It's like driving around with your windows down in a snow storm. Heat just wont help ya if ya cant keep the air off of ya.

I would really try to pick up some full hard doors, if you look hard enough you should be able to find a pretty good deal, although it may take awhile.

Down here. They are every where for about 3-600 bucks for a good set. Cause we only get about 30 days of cold 40's they rest always warm up to nice outside.

Duct tape seal or a goretex jacket. I got a parka (ECWCS level I) from an army surplus, can drive with no top in the winter and its not cold.

And always smile, don't let anyone know you are cold.

Thats not for me, I have to wear dress clothes to work. LOL

Another thing I did on my 94' YJ is to seal up the vent for cold air. If you have any cold air blowing in straight down on your legs from under the dash, this would be why.

There is a flap on the intake for the cold air that did not close all the way for me. By pulling off the cover on the vent (outside) above the hood, then looking inside it to the drivers side, you can see the hole easy. I was able to push the vent flap closed all the way and shove a piece of sponge in there to hold the flap nice and shut for the winter.

I dont have that problem, Mine is tight and closed. My uppers are just gently flapping in the wind and it's 90% from the passenger door.

I have an extra set of full solid doors w/ some minor cracks on the inside panels but seals properly.
I was going to cut it to make a half door but will trade w/ your half door if you want...
