Talking Memory Lane (pics)

had a buddy scan some pics of my first jeep...yj of coarse. all my pics are 35mm, so i'm glad i can finally put a few up.

man i loved that thing, wish it was still here, but i have enough now anyway.... this has a couple stages of the yj, bought it stock, and then got the disease....enjoy

and i loved those wheels, i wish they still made them...they looked stupid on everything else but my jeep.

thanks for sharing my trip down memory lane. i have a huge garbage bag full of 35mm jeep pics.

that jeep had many different springs, the pic w/ the bfg muds on it is stock springs, with an add a leaf made from the main spring cut out of another stock set of springs, and bigger shackles.

i ditched the bigger shackles once i started using bigger springs. i then proceeded to wear out 2" springs soa w/ stock shackles. back then all springs had lifetime warranties.....it was sweet. i got around 4 sets of springs free, 2 sky jacker and 2 rough country.

and those thornbird tires i really liked.

i forgot the last pic i had scanned

sweet man it looks nice, brings back some not so distant memories of my own! my buddy has rims like that, or he did at least 5 months ago, i thought they were so damn ugly, he had them wrapped with a pair of thornbirds.

That is sweet. I'll have to see if my old man has any pics of my jeep. It's an 89 and he bought it in the summer of 90(I was 7) with 26,000 on it, supposedly it was driven here from Cali and traded in. When I turned 16 he decided he had enough of the bumpy ride He bought an Eldorado and made a deal with me. If I paid insurance and gas I could drive it and if I graduate HS he would sell it to me for a $1000. When the jeep was finally "mine"(graduation 01) the motor decided to dump out 3 months afterwards. I replaced it with an ATK longblock and put about 5,000miles on it and decided to make it huge. Before I finished the GF and I had a daughter and bought a house. I haven't had the money to finish it and even worse, I haven't been able to drive it in 4 years now. I love my jeep.

i had to sell that one when the family came along.....i was wranglerless for 4 or 5 years, now i'm building my current yj for keeps, and somehow have more jeeps than i really should.

Dave your son's look to be as much of a handful as mine. After seeing your pics i decided to go back and look for some of my own. I can't find my first jeep pics (way too long ago for the computer) but I found one of my boy in the TJ I used to have.

Man those were fun days, but he cried when I got rid of that one. i was jeepless for 3 years before I got my first cj, and then he played on the cj like it was a jungle jim.

And he also helped show my friends just how he wanted things done.

Now I am building a YJ that he says I have to save for him to drive (in 8 years)
