Question Removing Fender Flares

How easy do they come off? I can feel the screws but it doesn't seem like a socket would fit on them. And if they break? Are they just trim screws? I'm trying to stop some rust under them before the snow starts. Don't want to break them while taking them off if I will have trouble replacing the screws or if it will crack the plastic. They aren't in bad shape but if I don't have to replace them it is money I can put into something else.

well from my experienced doing this it is not a good idea on mines there was tons of rust i couldnt even find a socket for this bolt , guessing it was rounded out of rust and your going to wind up having holes on your tub where each bolt was , but this all depends how much your jeep has aged with earth. but if you have the money you can always fix it yourself with a welder ,some bondo and paint

Use a small wire brush to clean up the heads of the screws,8mm 6point socket ,youll get them off.they only screw into plastic retainers.Take you time

x2 and in some cases the little plastic rectangular retainer might not touch any edges to keep it from spinning but i just used some plyers to hold it still while i took out the screws.
