| Speakers
Hi,
The front speakers on a YJ are 4x6" standard mount? Seems a bit difficult to take them out at the moment, and I'd like to order some new ones.
No paper in them this time. The ones I had did not react positively to the mud, water, rain, snow etc.
Tom

You are correct sir, and mine didn't react to mud well either

Wow, that was fast, whats your time there, 6AM? Thanks
I heard polypropylene membranes + rubber seals are the way to go in this case.

I actually managed to take out the right one without breaking, cutting or killing anything. The left one seems to be more of a challenge, looks like I will need some of those rescue cutters the FD carries.
Or I could disassemble the e-break...

I just abandoned the stock speakers in the grill, and installed some of the boxes, 6x9s in the back between the "sport-bar" (I can't bring myself to call that a roll-bar.) and the rear wheel tub, and a pair of 6" rounds on the tranny hump.

My first job was installing car stereos, and I replaced the dash speakers in both my jeeps. Just fold the windshield down and unbolt the top of the dash. You can then reach both speakers easy as pie. Good Luck.

we just replaced ours a few days ago. Just took out the side bolts for the dash and pryed it back just enough to get in there. Was actually kinda surprised my husband got them out and back in without having to take everything apart...lol But we didn't want to have to take the windshield down again after replacing the cowl. I don't think he had to disconnect the parking brake either.
