stuck in reverse

Standard trans stuck in reverse. Clutch disengages, but shifter is jammed. Was sitting for 6 mo. Any ideas out there. Thanks

so the clutch works, it will move in reverse, and then coast with the clutch in? sounds like a bearing or something seized up. you can try removing the shifter, but it doesn't sound like good news.

i just had mine stuck in reverse and it was the reverse idler gear. you have to reach in the back of the tranny with a hooking tool (we made ours just heated a rod and bent the end of it), and pull that shift fork towards you its kinda a pain. if you cant get it that way there is a bolt on the right side of the tranny take that out and use a screw driver to pop it. good luck

Mine was stuck, but we got in cleared up usng a bent rod. However, it wasn't 100 miles later that everything crapped out.
