Voltage upgrade for 24v Warn Winch

Hi Folks,

I have a 24 Volt Warn Winch and wish to use it on my Wrangler. How can I upgrade my 12v system in order to use this winch?

thanks

A DC to DC converter is what you want. How many amps does the winch pull?

I am not sure, but I have checked on the Warn site and it states 258 amps. Does this sound right??

That doesn't sound right.Sounds extemely high. You cam buy a DC to DC converter. Not sure what it will run you. I'd check to make sure that it can handle the load a winch will put on it. Possibly you would need to upgrade your electrical by installing a high capacity alternator and maybe an extra battery.
