Chippewa National Forest

Just wondering if anyone has spent much time or had much experience in the Chippewa National Forest. Looks like it may be a good all around recreation spot...wheeling, fishing, hiking etc. Any info???

my 1992 wrangler spent most of its life riding the ohv trails of the Chippewa national forest. i bought it last winter near walker, mn. i have explored some if the trails near by. any dirt road i have driven down had a ohv trail entrance. look at the map and you can find some great wheeling!

Thanks-belated. I was hoping there may be something in the area. Don't think we'll get there any more this year but it is on the radar.

Manmonza, is there anywhere in particular in the Superior National Forest that you prefer? I have been to Gilbert a couple of times and had a blast. I also participated in the Roof of the Rockies Jeep Jamboree a few weeks ago. I would love to find an area similar to the trails in Colorado where us Jeepers are able to venture in to. I recall that our trails guides had GPS units that kept track of our trails in Colorado. This is going to be my next purchase. I look forward to any additional info you can share about Jeeping up north in Minnesota.

Luvmyhemi, I am in Cook County. The very tip of the Arrowhead. I just drive down a dirt or paved road till I see something that looks fun. Not much for rock crawling here but a few hills that in the middle of summer my jeep sinks close to a foot in spots going up hill. Those hills are about 3/4 mile long.

A couple roads I really enjoy are the Mark Lake road, Musquash Lake road and Jabbo road.
