Tofte, next to the worlds biggest air conditioner. I have had my 1990 yj Islander for about 6 months now. I just love how my 'Lil Red Wagon plays on the trails and in the mudd.

Farmington here. Sure would be nice to get out in the snow this Winter. Anyone know of place around the cities to get out and play in our Jeeps?

Hey fellow Farmingtonian. Noticed the Tigers pennant in the backdrop. Would be fun to get out and test out the Jeep a bit. You know of anyplace around here?

Ice caves! We're headed there next week, probably will take the new JKU. Staying at the Inn on the island so we'll be taking the ice road back and forth. Also going to take the kids dog-sledding.

New to the Forum. I'm from Robbinsdale and I just got my Jeep a few months ago. Anybody know where I can get a lift kit done at? I have a 2012 JKU. I'm looking to get a 2.5-3" lift. I'm trying to avoid a rough country lift though. I've heard bad things.

I havent actually used any metro shops for 4x4. When I had my cobra I have a friend with a performance shop in rogers who did all my heavy lifting. stuff in over a decade.

I would recommend your first step be decide what you want from the lift, then on the lift itself. Really with the exception of brake lines/bleeding the suspension stuff is generally pretty easy with basic hand tools, especially on a nice new clean jeep.

I agree with Disc Dog. I just put the rancho lift in my 2012 rubicon last weekend. Amazon.com: Rancho RS66109BR9 Suspension System: Automotive

I paid $380 and you get a $50 rebate from Rancho now. Took about 6 hours and the tool list is short and you don't need a lot of experience to do it.

I got 3" in the front and 1.25" in the rear.

How does the rancho lift work for you? How is the ride quality? If the ride quality is poor is there anything joy can do to make it better such as using non rancho shocks?

Works awesome for me. You cannot buy the kit without the shocks. I got the version with the RSX9000 shocks. Do a search on the shocks, I doubt you will find many people that think they are bad. The ride is much better than stock. Its a killer kit for that price with rebate. If you live in the North metro you are welcome to take a look and see for your self.

Lots of Wranglers on the North Shore

Hello MN Wrangler owners. I am from Two Harbors there are well over a dozen wranglers in Two Harbors including everything from a restored classic cj5 , a few (t)rusty yjs, several tj's and a half dozen jk's.
I think it is interesting to see all the different mods and ways everyone has personalized their wranglers.

Not my first Jeep (had a '89 XJ a few years back) but this is my first TJ (1997). This one is a bit of a project, nothing major though. From the Robbinsdale area myself.

As for local 4x4 shops, only one I know of (no experience with them though) is Hooze4x4 up in Blaine/Ham Lake area.

Another from Lakeville area. 2005 Red LJ. Also, if anyone needs a lift installed, I have a good friend who is a mechanic by trade that could help you out and save you some $$$. He is located in Farmington.
