New to MN and Jeeps

I'm originally from Texas and always done the dodge truck/mudhole combo. Im in the process of locating a 'new to me' jeep. So, if anyone has any suggestions on where to start looking (i've just been keeping an eye on craigslist mostly), that'd be great. I'm located in Eagan. I would prefer something around the 2000 year range. Just want something I can pay cash for and tinker with mostly. It'll probably end up being my DD though. Thanks in advance.

So far I'm still looking. I see a few that kind of catch my eye, but the combination between high mileage and high price is a concern. (even more so when they don't even have cruise control lol). So, it is proving to be a challenge to find something in the price range I'm looking for, but I'm pluggin away at it. I checked out a few dealerships, but they tried to blow smoke up my ass as to why they wanted as much as they did for the vehicle and tried for 30 minutes to get me to finance something. I am willing to go as high as 8 grand (which I know will warrant a higher mileage vehicle). I just don't want to finance when I have a decent amount of cash to spend and not worry about a payment.

There is a yellow 01 (or 00) at Apple Suzuki in Shakopee, 116k, drove it once, needs a new driver seat, but otherwise seems OK, couldn't buy it because my wife said yellow Jeeps are for girls...I'd say she was wrong, but that would just make her angry

They were asking $8300 a few weeks ago, I think it is down to 8, I'm sure they would go lower, it has been on their lot for a while.. No cruise control, if I remember right... Prices are a bit high for the milage, I think, but unless you want a 97 or older with 200k miles. I searched cars.com, carsoup.com, craigslist, and autotrader.com before I found mine..
