Ok so I just moved back to Iowa after being in SoCal for 7 years. Had 2 jeeps out there, one was a 2012 Sahara and then i sold it 6 months later for a 2004 tj turning out to be the right decision for power and performance.

Anyways out in SoCal everyone does the jeep wave and thats part of the fun is just being a part of "the jeep thing" however i just picked up a jeep again after selling my last one and was driving down the rode and got all excited to see an oncoming jeep. I was all like yeah get to do the wave for the first time since i sold it and well that excitement was short lived to this "chick" not waving. so i was thinking well maybe she didn't see me or something. A few mins later another jeep is coming so again I throw it up and this guy doesn't do a thing. well this continued to happen and i passed about 5 jeeps on the drive how. So do Iowa jeepers just not give a damn about the "jeep wave" part of the fun is being part of such an awesome community right. Ive had my fair share of jeeping and mod them out like an adult bad a$$ lego set. IDK what is going on but some Iowa jeepers are being a buzz kill and maybe should go get a cheeroke or something if they can't be cool and wave at me damnit. lol I'm really bugged by this. HIT me iowa jeepers. Im new to the area and looking for where to go and stuff. AND IF YOURE NOT WAVING YOU NEED TO WAVE BE PUMPED TO BE A JEEPER.

I wave, but sometimes miss another Jeep. I have also caught myself admiring another Jeep and forgetting to wave, then I feel like a real smuck, looking right at it and not waving.

Post a pick of your Jeep so we know it is you...

I did TruckLites on my TJ last year about this time, I never had any problems. That was a concern that I had. The difference from stock is night and day. Best mod I have done so far.

I wave and a chick....but I am also a jeeper. I think I've missed about 1 - that's because I was shifting and turning a 33 degree turn. I get about a 50% return. Mostly guys return, but there are a couple local CJ's that don't return it. Fun the types of waves from 2 fingers to full hand.

I'm in Des Moines.. I got sick of looking like an idiot waving and being ignored so I don't wave unless someone waves at me first.. Not out of snobbyness or nothing though. If I get a wave I will 100% return it, as long as I actually see it. Beyond that I don't really give the wave much thought at all.

My 2005 ORANGE LJ is getting delivered hopefully this week to beautiful lovely scenic Fort Dodge. This will be my 3rd Wrangler (98 TJ, 76 CJ7 and a lifted XJ). I always waived in the past and will continue the tradition. I'm even buying the mirror waving decals as one of my first "mods".

Manage a car lot and have taken it upon myself to teach all new Jeepers about the REQUIRED Jeep waive.

If you see an Orange LJ in Dirty Dodge or heading to an Ice Rink in Desmoines you Darn well better waive. ;)

A few of us are meeting at Redbird SRA in Dugger, Indiana the last weekend of June to run some trails. A few of them are Jeep Badge of Honor trails. For anyone interested, here's a link to the info and planning. Redbird SRA in Dugger, Indiana meetup and trail run | OVERLAND BOUND COMMUNITY
Some of us are leaving Friday morning the 24th and going to convoy over. Others are meeting us there from other states. If you're interested, join in the discussion so we have a head count. Most of us will be camping.

Sounds fun, would like to do a trail run, but 500 miles is a haul...but, not ruling it out.
