I USED to go to ISU. Graduated last semester. Still live in Ames - I don't really go muddin' or anything like that though... What's your major?

Neither do I. My jeep is straight pavement. Ha I'm fussy. I'm going to major in agribusiness and agronomy and see about minoring in forestry. What was yours?

Woooord... My baby doesn't even get to see the white stuff... Too much salt and other nasties on the road in Iowa...

Ah! Nice! Busy busy! Haha! Me? Just a Psych. Major. - working on getting my Mental Health/Dual Diagnosis certification in counseling and therapy...

I'm not sure how many 'Jeepers' actually GO to ISU. The 5-ish years I've lived here I haven't seen too many students driving around in them... But there seem to be quite a few around Ames... Only about 10% seem to understand the "waving" thing.. Most look at me like they're trying to figure out if they know me, or if I'm just retarded. Haha! Oh well...

I know exactly what you mean! You do the wave... Get no response (mainly from stock jeeps) and then you get upset. Maybe that's just me but I'm always frustrated because they probably think I'm the idiot meanwhile it's what jeeps do! So you still live in Ames then? Moving at all?

Exactly!! I think there's a few catching on; or maybe it's because I wave at them everytime I pass them and they're just waving back to humor me... Either way, they're wavin'! Haha! :P

Yeah, I still live in Ames. At LEAST for the next year... But I'm guessing it'll be longer. I currently live over on the West-side (Tripp St.)... But I'm moving to over by the interesction of Duff and L. Way. Ames isn't that big and my Jeep is parked right outside of my house so if you see it, you'd know. Haha! What about you? How much school do you have left?

Replying after 4AM... Early riser or a night-owl? I'm supposed to be working right now, but I got bored and decided to troll the forums... Haha!

I'm actually going to be a freshman in the fall! Well, in a month or so... I just graduated high school. I'm not sure of the area around Ames at all yet. I have orientation the 21st and 22nd this week. I live in Pennsylvania actually! We got up early and are traveling back to our farm today. We have had a farm south of Des Moines for roughly six years now. I'm moving out there and becoming a resident... Right now haha. We sold our home here but we have others my parents will be traveling to. My home base however, will be Iowa. I'm so excited!!!! How do you like the farmland?! and what do you do? (job wise)...

OH! Nice! Pennsylvania?! My cousins used to live there! They moved to Boston about 4 years ago... That's exciting you're starting your college career! What made you choose ISU?? Hopefully you enjoy it here. Ames is an interesting town... Haha!

Who's operating your farm now? Will you be living on the farmland, or are you moving to Ames? It might suck driving from south of Des Moines to Ames every day for school - depending on how far south it is, that's a LEAST an hour not including back-ups from commuters.. ESPECIALLY in the winter - unless we continue to have mild winters like this last one, then you're golden. Haha!

Hmm.. What to say about the farmland...? Joking. Haha! I've lived here my whole life - and on a farm for my first 17 years - so everything about it is pretty normal to me. As a kid, I hated it because we were isolated from EVERYONE by like 5 miles in any direction... But I think I would really enjoy it now. At least the peace and quiet... My Mom still lives on our "farm" though pretty much all of the land is sold and we don't have livestock.. So it's basically an acerage... AND I don't go there anymore.. :P

I work at the Hospital... On the Mental Health floor (6th). Hopefully you'll never have to be up here. Haha!

ISU just has the best ag programs and being that I am as resident soon, tuition is balling. I'll be living on campus. Hell no I'm not commuting! And we don't have animals. It's all crops and hunting ground. We do quail habitat too... I love quail... Lol. My obsession might make some think I should visit your professional area...

Ahhh! Good point! I originally came for Software Engineering.. But couldn't handle the Math. Haha! I'm too stupid for Differential equations and what-not.

I'm glad you're not commuting though.. I knew someone that used to commute from Ankeny who ended up dropping out (though I don't know EXACTLY why... I think part of it was due to not making it to class...).

Quail?! I honestly don't think I've ever actually seen one in real life. Haha! Sad, I know. Hey now, it's always good to have a passion! With the way I go out and lay under my Jeep, I'm sure some of my neighbors think I'm a little off-kilter too. Hahaha!

You BETTER give me a honk (in addition to "the wave") when you see me around Ames. You can be sure I'll do the same. There's no one in Ames with a Jeep like yours (unless they're hiding it in their garage) - I'd know. By the way, you're bringing your Jeep to Ames, right?

Oh my... Math... I LOATHEEEEE math: absolutely cannot stand it. What does your jeep look like!!?! Post some pictures! I know what you mean. People identify me with quail and jeeps, haha. I have a quail sticker on my back window . and I am not quite sure if I'll be taking my jeep up there right away. Our tan jeep is in Iowa right now. (I wouldn't bring my baby out until it has a garage...) the tan one has always been the beater jeep. My silver one is new...ish. Jeep or not I hope to be seeing yours when I'm at school! I'm moving into Oak August 15th. I was supposed to live in Wallace... Hellllllll no.

Haha! I'll take some pictures today hopefully. We'll see. There's one picture of the side of it in my Jeep profile. Nothing special, but I love it! Haha! Ah! True... I wouldn't want to either if I was you. I don't have a garage... But I'm working on getting a storage unit lined up for the winter. But you'll at least have a Jeep around to drive? Or are you even going to bring a vehicle up to Ames?

NICE! So are you going to be down south of Des Moines until then? Good move on the Oak thing... I don't think ISU could've paid me to live in Wallace. Haha! There's a lot of really crappy dorms around campus... I opted out... Lived off-campus my whole college career.

I'm a Psych. Assistant.. There's really no requirements other than some basic medical stuff you can do after you get hired.. It's no career.. Just a job to get the bills paid while I complete all of my education stuff. Haha!

Well just this week for orientation then we are heading back to Pennsylvania until August to pack up. And Jeep Fest goes on in the beginning of August like right next to our house!! Haha. Educational stuff...? More school....? I don't drive anything but Jeeps and the occasional Ford pick-up trucks my dad has so I'm really not too sure. I'm nervous with random hail storms and tornado watches!! And college kids... Near my baby... Eh! Sketchy! I'm not sure. No idea. But yeah I found out I lived in Wallace and all my ag classes are on the other side of campus so I was like... Hell no. So, magically, there was a skanky girl that messaged me saying how Oak was all girls and her and her roommate wanted to party and be around guys so we switched haha. Who would figure there would be sluts at college?

Ah! Nice! How did the drive go?? Jeepfest?? I don't think we have anything like that here. There's no where near as many Jeeps here as I've heard there are out east. Haha! Lucky you. There's actually rarely any hail here.. And the tornado watches are kind of a joke.. I can't remember the last time I actually saw one. (And I'm the type that likes to go out in fields and watch them.. Haha!) Though I don't blame you... College kids would be what I'd be worried about. A lot of them are VERY irresponsible. I've never found anyone messing with my Jeep.. Though I don't take my doors off, so it's probably not as inviting as other Jeeps can be.

Haha! That's AMAZING! For once slutty girls did something positive for SOMEONE other than having them come up positive on their next STD screening. ;p Hahaha!

Thanks! Finally someone that understands! I thought I'd add that in there since everyone I meet asks me if I take it muddin' and I'm like: "Heeeeell no!" And then they give me disgusted looks. So what if I want to keep my baby nice? I don't have the time of money to go out and drop on parts and what-not if I were to break something. Plus, it's not like there's anywhere to do that type of stuff around here.. I'd just rather have a clean-looking Jeep. I like that you baby yours as well.

Did it come like that? Or did you modify it so that it was more "truck-like"? Your Jeep is SO nice! It'd put mine to shame. Makes me wonder how nice your "beater" Jeep is... Hahaha!

Wow. I just texted this huge response and my phone froze. Bitches. Haha but basically thanks, the drive went well. Jeep Fest is a worldwide event for all Jeepers. The first Jeep was made in Butler, PA which is the town closest to our home in PA. So there are Jeeps from every corner of the world there. I love it.

I'm a pro at babying jeeps lol. Our beater is our rubicon.

But I still treat it like a king . Lol. It's our "farm jeep".

Tornado chaser huh?! Haha I did that once... It was actually sweet. And I'd love to stand in a field and watch one. Seems pretty realistically done in Iowa. Haha. Miles of flat crops! Yes!! Haha.

No. Our jeeps all came stock. Rubitrux.com is where we bought the tops. Got the beds sprayed down. Jacked em up. You can see what they have on them.

Oh! That sucks.. Gotta hate it when that happens. I'm glad the drive went well. You have orientation ALL week then?? I remember my orientation, but it was only a day-long thing... Maybe like 4 or 5 hours or something. ISU isn't THAT big. Haha!

Wow! I did not know that.. I guess I don't really know the history of Jeeps that well.. I probably should, being a Jeep owner.. Hmm.. That'll be really cool though! So are you going to be heading back right after Jeepfest?

Yeah.... Your "farm Jeep" is totally in better condition then my baby.. At least it looks a lot nicer. Haha! Makin' me look bad. Joking joking. I'll have to check that Rubitrux site out.. I'm far from having the funds to buy anything new right now, but it's always fun to look.

I wouldn't say I'm anything NEAR a tornado chaser. Haha! I would usually just go out and see if there's any visible from my current location. It's hard to do when you live IN Ames... But when I lived back at my Mom's or my Dad's houses you could see for miles - and that's when it's fun to watch. There's hardly any danger, and you'd always have plenty of time to make it to a basement if you say it turn your way. Haha!

No I only have orientation the 21st and 22nd!!! I'm at the family farm right now. Well... The farm office actually. I wanna get natural resources license plates for my jeep with pheasants on them!!!! Cute!

Yeah we are selling our one PA home. So I'm actually changing my residency to Iowa today! I'll be a full time resident in August. Class starts August 20th. I'm so excited!

Ah! Nice! Those plates would suit you. Too bad they don't have quail ones. Haha! Or do they...?

Oh man... Why are you doing that? It sounds like a prime location to live. If not for the location, for the Jeeps! Haha! Sure, you're excited NOW... Half-way through the semester you'll be wishing it was summer again. Haha!

Niiiice! Hickory Park is amazing!

Outside Mason City? Or another town? My Dad's house is in Clear Lake! He's out of town on business, so I'm actually heading up there tomorrow to check on everything. I'll hopefully be driving my Jeep.. Depending on if I can get some issues worked out today...

Haha that's actually the first thing I said!!! I was like, "for real? Where are the quail?!" hahaha. But they don't have them

We sold our home to Exxon... Gas drilling... It's a thing nowadays. Don't give me negativity on school!!!! I need to be as positive as possible!

Ah! Nice! I didn't grow up there... But I spent a good 6 years-worth of summers up there! Rudd... I believe I know where that is... Though I don't think I've ever actually been there..

Haha! Too bad your first custom plate can't be your favorite... But at least you can get a natural resources plate! That'll be cool. I've thought of getting a type of special plate... But I always seem to be running short on money come plate-registration time. Hahaha! Well, to be honest, I find myself running short on money a lot of the time..

Ohh! Shale.. Well, it's too bad you guys have to leave your home... But at least you had other places you guys were able to go! Moving somewhere new is always nice and refreshing. Though leaving your home behind always sucks...
