I would Love to be able to go Badlands sometime...but family commitments don't allow me to be gone for that long of a period of time....have to drive, wheel, and drive back the same day.....and I think it is real close to 3+ hours to the Badlands....maybe some day.

Post up pics though...one of these days things may work out to where I could come...and I need to see what else needs done to Red to tackle the Badlands!!!!

Badlands, May 11

Hey, im new to jeeps, and 4x4's,
have a new 2013 wrangler, is there places a stock jeep can ride there without scratching it up or tearing it up, its my only way to work, and would like to keep it nice, at least till its paid off, but would love to get out to see what it will do.
im also 55, so didnt know if you cared if a older guy came along,
thanks
Randy

I am not positive as I don't know every place to wheel that there is....but I think the Badlands is going to be the closest to you....might check up into MI though as well....maybe the Dunes. Think Badlands is about a 2 or so hour drive for you.......and MI will probably be the same. Badlands can be pretty rough but there are bypasses to avoid the real bad spots....and a stock JK is pretty capable...may be "easier" wheeling (and I use that term loosely) in MI in state parks.

I am 51 and while frequently one of the older ones of the group, there has never been an issue about age IMO.....

Randy come on out on the 11th to the badlands. Plenty of older guys and couples, as well as stock and modified jeeps. You can choose how much youd like to wheel, and we can spot you or guide you in any obstacle.

Badlands has easy, moderate and hard trails. Sand, mud rocks and casual dirt roads as well. Youll have a blast and be comfortable.

I took my 2012 Sahara there for the freeze out, and other then a 2" Rancho 'Sport" lift (leveling kit really) and some rock rails it was stock, to include the 18" Bridgestone Duelers. I think you'll be shocked at what you can do with a stock Jeep.

Scratches may very well happen. Just go with what you are comfortable with.

<--- My avatar was taken that day.

And how it looks now...
