I think its something like 1000 acres? Its pretty big NAXJA and Toys for Tots have annual events out there that boast some 100+ wheeler's. But I wanna try to keep it to people we talk to on boards WF JF IndyORV. Just so it stays respectful and alot of fun! 24 Jeeps is alot of Jeeps

Oh and the CB antenna is a 4' firestick. It works as a CB but it could be used as a flag pole too. I'll bring it along to the trip, its free for whichever of you get there first!!!

yeah campground is plenty large enough, let's just hope there is no rain a few days before and day off. The campground can get pretty muddy when it's wet. I went to NAXJA winterfest in 09, and we had 150ish rigs show up on the trails.

Hey Indy what about seeing about the property that badlands has for special group outings and such. Maybe we could run that on Saturday. I saw pics of it and it looks pretty sweet.

I believe that's Mission Impossible - the private only trail. Never ran it myself, but I thought they had size requirements - larger tires, lockers, etc. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I could ask but many of those trails back in the M.I area are pretty tough and really for those with serious rigs. Anyone interested?

I'm not sure how difficult the trails are in there. Just a thought for something new. I guess we could ask if there is anything not too crazy in there if worth doing?

For any of the new guys here are a few suggestions:
Make sure you have GOOD tow points front and rear.
Don't buy or use tow straps with hooks on the ends.
Buy a GOOD recovery strap. (Acts like a giant rubber band)
Be safe and have fun.
Hi lift jacks can seriously injure you, if you don't know what you're doing.
We have a large group going on April 9th as well from Jeepforum and Indyorv.

Put me down as a maybe for the June date.

So if we get as huge as turnout as perdicted, are we all running together, or break up into two or more groups so we don't congest the trail? As a suggestion we could do this possibly:

1 - in the morning have two runs: one more built rigs and one more for stockers. Fir example one run could be green and the other orange.

2 - meetup in quarry after doing that run, and change things up after that.

Look what I got!! Got some Rokmen Aluminum full corners and some custom homemade rocker armor! Thanks again Gribbles!

They will be on this weekend or next

Oh the other notes, I will put you down as interested, idiot haha. And mtu we can figure something out, i think itd be too big of a line if we all went one trail so either 2 big groups or a bunch of small groups with atleast one person with a cb per group. Just have some fun whatever someone wants to anyone can join him! Also mhaines, i wanna make that so bad but have very little money, no gas, and i gotta work till 4 and then put on my rockers! Whos all goin?

just a suggestion, if we break up into smaller groups - keep a few in each who really know what they're going! My rig is moderately modded and has proper recovery equip, but I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) have never done any organized trail running, just bombing round the countryside w/ my cousins.

Thats a good point that we can follow! As long as someone in the group has a CB or cell they can get ahold of me for ways to get back or to where they are... you can get lost! But most trails are marked and we can get trail maps for free i believe or just print one out at home! Everyone can do most of the trails!

This event isnt a registered WF event as of yet, I may persue that since it is such a large event and a large number of WF members! I don't think they have a flag though!!

lol - I always end up leading cause I'm a bigger jeep, but the bad part is I always get to find the "deep" mudholes. I have just about everything mentioned above, can lead if needed, but can also get ya all lost too - lol.

I got an 8k Warn winch, CB, cell - that gets reception there - lol, straps, clevis, com-along, tools, etc.

If we do break into groups we should try to get it so that the lead jeep, and last jeep have cbs incase of any stragglers. Also it's a good idea, for everyone, that if you can't see the rig behind you to wait up (unless it's on a hill).

Also as mentioned the trails are marked pretty good - though orange can get confusing at times.

^^ Well said!

The way we will most likely run any "technical" trails will be one at a time through an obstacle and the others watch and spot! But mostly thats for rocks and stuff. I have my eye on a certain spot

I cannot wait until June rolls around!

Good! Lol, it will be organized but not past the extent to where its not fun, just where no one gets lost and we take our time wheelin', chatin, and having a great time. And of course so people can learn if its their first time and to help others out on a technical trail! Of course if you wanna go fly around in the sand pit thats fine too, its whatever you want to do, and we as a group stand behind everyone
