Smile Anyone know of a good mechanic?

Help please, it is about to get super cold and I need my heater core replaced this is my only transportation to/from work and I am already really feeling the cold. I am looking for a good shop/person in the Columbus or Mount Vernon area that can replace the heater core for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Trying to avoid dealerships so I can avoid have to use OEM (difference of $300 in just parts). Thank you in advance!!!!

My son just had his replaced in his YJ, TODAY, in Circleville for $250. To bad that's on the wrong side of Columbus for you.

If I was closer I would come do it for you. I did mine by myself an it's not too hard. There are some good write ups with good pictures that are detailed. That's if you feel comfortable doing it though.

Welcome to Hometown Service Center!

I've used these guys a few times, seemed fairly reasonable and reliable (north end of Westerville).

I am trying to talk my husband into doing it, I heard that it is not as difficult as he is making me believe it is.

Thanks!

Been a mechanic all my life. so if you need help I can help. the only trick is getting our schedules to match up. I live in Lancaster. So let me know what you want to do. Just a little history so you know I am not some weardo...16 yrs in the military as a mechanic. I work full time for the military and work at DSCC as a mechanic. 18 yrs as a mechanic on the side. So again, if you find yourself in around Lancaster I can definitely help you do this and show you some tricks to help you save some bucks in the future.
