one of the best things that i have learned is do your best to stay out of the ruts

Can anyone recommend a CB installer in the Lorain County area , private or commercial?

I have my Uniden 510 on order. I'm still trying to determine which mount I want to use on the back for my antenna. I have the Teraflex hinged tire carrier so I may go with their antenna mount or possibly rig up a license plate mount like others have.

I'm looking for help hooking up the power correctly and tuning the antenna.

Sorry I can't help, but I do like the license plate bracket method.

I installed the Cool Tech UltraMount license plate kit. The instructions were spot on and easy to follow. It is out of the way and has a nice clean look when the antenna is off. The other thing I got from them is their custom antenna cable that made it so easy to route through Jeep and there was no soldering. What a time saver?!?

Looks good. I'm still debating where to put mine.

Are you running a quick disconnect?
How did you power your CB? Wired to the battery or did you tap into the keyed power wire behind the center console?

No, I have a HD spring. I only attach the antenna when I go wheeling or on a road trip/long drive.

I mounted the connector box for the Cobra WX ST under the glove box. I ran the power line directly to the battery through the firewall access on the passenger side.

Here is a top view of the box (with the glove box removed, of course). I drop the cable for the hand set down when I need to connect it. Other wise it tucked away out of sight. I'm debating installing the flush mount connector plate in the panel below the glove box.

That would be great except I have to work this weekend. Work gets in the way of living sometimes!

Looks like fun. Unforeseen family business kept me away.

I'm aiming for September now.

Are you still looking for help with your CB install? I will be finishing up mine this week and just picked up a SWR meter. If ya want to drive over we can take care of yours. It aint rocket science.

Was it that orange one? I saw what looked like a 10 year old driving it with his grandpa in the passengers seat!
