How was the turn out? I was keeping eye out for the group. We had a ride planned in that same area yesterday. It was just three of us. We started on the tamer unmaintained roads around East Fork. It was my wife's first time driving off road. It was a good place to start. She got her feet wet on a couple of road/trails and then had me take over.

Then we headed a little South and drove into the base of Power Line Hill. My buddy really wanted to drive up it. We got out to survey the main trail and the bypass. In person, this is intimidating. Even the bypass doesn't exactly look like a walk in the park. I have seen many videos of this hill. They don't do it justice. It also has changed a lot. It doesn't look much like the videos from the last year or two. The spot where people struggle going up and down now looks to be a sheer rock face the is approaching 3 ft high.

When my buddy decided he was ready to climb the hill, his TJ wouldn't start. Maybe wiring got wet. Who knows?!? We're ended up towing him back down the trail using our JKUR. I was impressed with how our Jeep handled. (This is our first Jeep and we've had her less than three months.) To be fair, I had her in 4Lo with the rear diff locked. But... We were able to pull the TJ back about a mile and half down the sloppy, wet trail and over obstacles without breaking a sweat or spinning tires. Slow and steady did the trick. Eventually het got it started once we got out on the road and he drove it the rest of the way home.
