What gears am I running?

Hi everyone,

I've read Through a few threads about reading the tag on the transfer cases to figure put what gears your jeep came with. I have an 2011 and there are no tags on front or rear t-case. It is however stamped w/ #s on the case. Can anyone make heads or tails of the following?

42960 1
300 10
HEV Y
05 28 10

I'm praying I didn't buy a jeep with a 3.00 gear ratio...seems way too low from everything I read. I get the last line is probably the dat it was mfr or something.

Thanks a TON for any insight you may have.

JC

email Chrysler your vVIN and ask for the build sheet, the ratio will be listed on it.

I would do this anyway as it gives you all the info they have on your jeeps build, which is good to have.

Ugh...my car is too new. Their database only goes to 2010 (so says their website) and I have a 2011 . Thank you for the prompt replies. I guess I will have to email Chrysler and wait. Thanks again.

Thanks Inferno girl, I just found out my Jeep was born April 20th, 1998. Next year I can shower her with gifts.

the Chrysler email is no longer valid. got a bounce back from it. The bounceback referred me to http://www.jeep.com/jeepcares . It's an online form to submit a question. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they can get me the build specs. Thanks again for your prompt reply.
